Hello Hive
How is our day coming, I hope that we are finding things easy and having fun doing the jobs we love.
Not many people have been able to or are fortunate enough to have found their dream job or career path but because we are all in need of finance for our daily lives we find ourselves doing even the most menial jobs to earn a living. I hope that we find peace with whatever we engage in.
Today I'm sharing with us this dress I had made for one of my childhood friends. We have attended thesame primary and secondary school and live in thesame neighborhood. Her birthday is around the corner and I just did her a little favour to keep a memory of these years birthday.
Not everyone gets a birthday cake here or a photoshoot session to mark their birthday due to financial constraints, so I decided to make her a dress and equally create a beautiful image she can use go post on her timeline.
I have made a kimono dress of this fabric earlier and since I have some left over of it I decided to give it out as a gift making a dress for my friend.
I stayed with cutting the off shoulder front and back bodice here
Then I got a band to use as the shoulder strap which I had taking to the machine, sewn and turned it over.
Next, I turned the necklines of the dress with a matching color bias strip
After that I joined the straps to the upper bodice to serve as the sleeves here
Then I joined this to the lower part of the dress here
The dress came out to be a lovely red dress but I was unsure wether I should add some embellishments or not. Moving on I got this little mesh of red decorative stripes places it on the dress to see what the outcome will be like
I'm not really sure if I should leave the mesh design in it like this or something. This is all I have of that stuff I would have utilized it creatively if there were more.
What do you think of this, should we leave the design on the center front of the dress or take it off.
I feel more satisfied with the plain dress but I believe that we have people here that would want it to be more extravagant.
