Hello Hive
Happy New Day to my beloved friends here. I love and cherish everyone I have ever come across on the blockchain, and I appreciate #hive for giving me the privilege to meet and make new friends all across the globe.
Anyone on the blockchain can testify to the fact that we make more real and genuine friends here compared to some Web2 social apps filled with hate, savage responses, and all sorts.
I'm happy and grateful for the friends I have here, and all of you are so dear to me.
On my way back from church yesterday, I met a Hiver and recognized him at once as someone I had seen across the blockchain, and now meeting him in person was an honor. It is totally possible to meet up with people on Hive (online) and still meet them up in person. ๐. The numerous Hive meetups have been a good place to socialize and have made it possible to share more bonds with the people we meet online.
Talking about Sunday service yesterday, I just opened up a chapter of my life that has been closed for over 10 years.
Guess what, there goes your newest chorister.
I have loved music since childhood and had remained committed to the childrenโs church until issues came up in between the years that sent me away from singing.
I have long forgotten about all of the opera, music notes, and keys I have sung in before. This year I made a resolution to serve God in that office one more time.
It was a blissful time in God's presence when I finally was able to minister alongside the other singers.
Talking about our choir outfit for yesterday, we were to put on a pleated native skirt on a white camisole and black jacket. Who wears this kind of combination? Cooperate English attire on a native skirt ๐๐๐.
This is what the dress coordinator desired, and we have to abide by the rules. My only challenge is concerning remaining committed to this group's weekly change of uniform. This has hindered me from joining the choir for a while, but for this week I was gifted the needed fabric and went ahead to sew my uniform as follows:
I started with cutting X3 measurements of my waist of the given fabric.
Then the stressful part of pleating the shirt using a 2" interval with my electric iron.
Having a spray starch will keep the pleats in place, but I was too rich for that at the moment.
Next I secured the pleats and added a band of my waist measurement to it.
Then I sewed in the zipper and created a neat hem for the skirt.
The final ironing, and then we were ready for church.
This is one of the things I have ignited this year that makes me so happy already, and if all things go well, I will be finding more joy, peace, and happiness belonging to a new socio-religious group to both serve God and make an impact in singing. I hope that this re-ignited passion and desire for music will not dwindle but fire on to make souls merry and equally impact lives.
