The story of how I came about sewing this jumpsuit still amazes me.
Initially the fabrics was purchased for a friend of mine whom she gave to a random tailor to sew for ha.
It was a total disaster, the tailor didn't get the exact style she wanted properly and the entire fabrics have been cut and sewn, there was nothing that can be done to change the design.
Some patterns of cloths can never be adjusted especially if it was cut into several pieces like this one, and my friend has a very big stature.
She detested the outcome of the design as you can see it here.
After passing the outfit to me about a year ago, she demanded that I look for someone with big physique who can wear this and I should dash it out..
This sat among my wip fabrics for a long time and I thought about throwing some of them away since some of my practicals where beyond repair and there is no other choice but to throw it away.

This year I paid a visit to my Wip hoping that I can continually pick them up one at a time until I exhaust the bag while working on new designs.
A thought came that since my friend has a big body there is a way I can rip the whole outfit and sew something different that will fit my own size...
Then i ripped all the seams open and you can imagine how time consuming that can be.
I got a huge pile of the cloth here and then thought about how I can join all the previous cut pieces to make another whole outfit.

That is exactly what has happened here.
Cutting and sewing each pieces together again.
A total transformation of style and size, coupled with the beautiful traditional nature of the fabric I just love the outcome now.
Recycling this was really tedious and time consuming since I have double assignment here.
Instead of cutting and sewing an outfit straight ahead, I had to first rip out the seams which took me 3hours to open them up, next I chalked it out and cut to my size and design before sewing again.
I made an off shoulder jumpsuit with a single rope passed around the neckline for the strapes
Isn't this just lovely.
This was a stressful process but it was worth it, I learnt a lesson from making this, that I could always find some meaningful use for any piece of garment or wasted materials.
