Hello Hive
And to my dear needlework family, its a beautiful new day and a season of love. I hope we get all the love our heart desires from our family friends and everyone around us. ❤💖😍😘😍
So we were making this outfit for a brides wedding ceremony and like we all know Nigerian people have embraced the three forms of marriage found in our society today.
Mixing both the traditional, court and Christian/Muslim wedding.
Whenever anyone wants to get married, they first do the traditional rite called.... Engagement in general term...
This is where the families meet and discuss the bride price and the list of items the man ought to have prepared to present to the bride's family.
It is After this rite that the couples are giving the go ahead to proceed to the church wedding...
But like we know, marital crisis is very common these days and most couples prefer to go for a court wedding just in case a court case might arise from the marriage later...
And them for the religious people who want their wedding sealed in church, they go ahead to crown these two rite with a church wedding (white wedding) or the Muslim Nikkah...
Wishing to do all these will have you doing 3 marriage ceremony rights which now adds extra financial burden to the events.
A bride wouldn't be wearing the same outfits on these three "wedding" occasions (permit me to call them the same name).
And to make her big day memorable, every bride goes for luxury outfits....
Have you seen laces materials been sold for 100k per yard?
That is how expensive the fabrics used for this outfits cost.
Besides 100k is still among the cheapest available we have some that are way more expensive..........
There is no simplicity of outfits for occasions like this especially in this part of the world.
People do not mind taking loans just to make their big day while most of these marriages often collapse because of debts from such loans....
In your honest opinions, do you think that we need all these or will it be a crime to wear what we can afford on our big day?.
Today am showing us this bridal outfit we are working on for a traditional marriage of a bride, which is the first step in marriage....
The lace is an expensive one as usual and been beautiful on its own, we do not need to make complicated designs....
This is been sown into a peplum blouse and a wrapper, our bride will be tying a wrapper.
But to add a little enhancement I decided to make simple accessories like cover buttons, bead work and others...
The bride is not here and though the outfit is ready, she is not here to model it for us....
After this rite the court and Muslim wedding follow afterwards and the bride will have to appear in some other outfits.
So do we really need all these three wedding rite and luxury outfits for three event, mind you the bride will be wearing another outfit to court and yet another to the Muslim praying ground.... Plus if there is bridal shower and the likes she might just need more clothes and more expenses......
