Happy new year to all of my beautiful people in the community. We are grateful for the gift of life, health and creativity, its a new beginning and I hope we have our plans laid out and waiting for the blessings from above...
The origin of wearing new outfits on special occasion seem to have evolved from no where for me.
Mostly in this part of the world we have to wear new outfits to church every christmas and new year.
Probably because most families can't afford new clothes during the year they made it a duty to buy at least a change if cloth for the new year.
With that in mind even the older adults have grown into desiring to wear new outfits on christmas or new year day....
Was that the case with me?

I doubt it, I have been blessed to have started learning fashion, wesspecially th that knowledge I can always visit the store buy cheap fabrics and design new clothes for myself.
To begin this year, I remembered all the WIP project I have at home and why even the WIP challenge then didn't help situations I just couldn't finish all my WIPs.
Part of the new year resolution was to clear this loads of unfinished work... Although this fabric might not be new, completing this one year WIP into a lovely dress like this makes me happy and fulfilled...
Tada.... Its a new outfit anyway.
Long time from now I have been wishing to sew me a long dress, all I have been sewing all this while were short skimpy outfits and today again I made that dream come through.
Having cut and sewn both bodice, I want the dress to have a net yoke.
That was where the challenge stepped in. Working with tulle net is often a disaster, especially when you need it to fit very well into your clothes.
Tulle net is stretchy and will exceed every measurement you make
Tulle net is fragile and can get torn with the slightest mistake you make
Regardless of this challenge, I want a neck yoke so I can embellish the net, I guess you can see that I managed through it.
Sewing all the pieces together and the zipper I have a dress ready.
The bead stores are far away in town, I want to teach us how we can add more light to outfits using bead work and embellishments.
Both the neckline and the sleeve will be worked on in pearls and beads.
