Good morning everyone, hope we had a splendid night? I'm here this morning to show you how I fixed suit pockets, the chest and the side pockets.
Most technical so to say about suit are pockets and collar, these places really need to pay serious attention to because this is where people see first. So we as a designer ought to make sure these places comes out real good.
When I was learning, my boss kept on telling him, bro once you are able to get this places right, the rest are nothing. So I dedicated my energy on these places.
So this morning I don't know who may find this useful but am going to the sharing with you how I make my suit pockets.
STEP 1
Cut a piece of the material you are using for the suit, a free hand cutting probably 3.5 inches by 7.5 inches for the side pockets and 5 inches by 6 inches for chest pockets. In the same manner you cut the linen to turn it with.
Then cut some smaller pieces, making it 2 inches by 8 inches
STEP 2
Apply hair stay to them
STEP 3
Draw out the shape, how you want the pockets to look like and how you want the size to be as well then sew it, turning it with Linen. Fold the smaller pieces one after the other and sew
STEP 4
helm and iron the pockets as well as the smaller pieces.
STEP 5
I started my sewing like this, I marked exactly 2 inches, placed the other pieces on it and sew by quarter.
STEP 6
Then I marked the place where the pocket will be, I place the the one i sew earlier on it and the other piece sewn beneath. Then I notch and sew the sides to make it firm.
Then same trend on the chest pocket.
That's how I got them fixed.
