I’ve mentioned it before that the NeedleWorkMonday WIP challenge is a wonderful idea, and I’ll say it again — it’s a wonderful idea. When participating in the challenge, people know the project you’re working on and expect to see how the finished piece would look. This actually spurs you to keep crocheting and give it your best. My last project was shown so much love from the beginning to the end. It just couldn’t come out less than pretty. And it didn’t disappoint. Having enjoyed the whole process of taking you guys along on that project, I decided to hop on another at once. I delayed a bit, but I’m here now.
I haven’t tried crocheting shorts or trousers before, so I want to try it out with a pair of shorts. Actually, this was the project I was supposed to get on before I decided to do the dress. In fact, I’d started on the ribbing already and gone halfway with it. I completed the length just yesterday.
When I gave progress report on my dress (previous WIP), I mentioned that I got 2 balls of another colour of yarn for a future project. Well, that future project is this project. I already had some balls of blue yarn I’d planned to use for this project, so I added 2 more balls. Initially, the idea was to make the shorts thick by doubling the yarn, but I don’t have enough yarn for doubling and don’t wish to purchase more, so I’ll have to crochet not-so-thick shorts.🙁
I didn’t make a sketch for this project because I haven’t decided on just how I want the shorts to be. To think that I’ve reached the point of starting on the body but haven’t even decided on a stitch is quite incredible because I always have a design for my projects in my head long before I begin them. I’m considering just using good old half-double crochet stitch, but we’ll see if I eventually decide to.
That’ll be all for now, guys, but I’ll be back soon. Till then, ciao!
