It's a #needleworkmonday miracle, because I actually pulled out a couple of things from the closet that needed repairing and I MENDED THEM, LIKE A GROWN UP. 😂 Please tell me I'm not the only one who puts off the mending pile for ages. Don't get me wrong, I didn't do ALL the mending, but I at least got these two items fixed. 😄
First I tackled one of my favorite hoodies that I've had since I was a teenager, that this is the first time I've had to mend it, too! It was getting this frayed thing happening at the cuff of one sleeve like knits often do, so I put a patch on the inside to hold it together (I think I can iron these patches, but I always sew them. I might iron it later in addition, but I like the extra security of sewing it).
Next, another first time repair, ironic after saying that I generally don't have to mend my cloth shopping bags that are canvas, was this canvas shopping bag. In its defense, this is the one I used to carry home 40lb. bags of cat litter on foot with, so it's seen some work! And no, it wasn't the handles that needed repair, but a loose seam in the bottom of the bag. So first I sewed it back closed by itself, then again added a patch for extra security.
If I can chip away at the mending pile a couple of items at a time, I might actually get it done. Now let's see how long until the next time I decide to mend anything is...
