I was thinking about my niece's birthday coming up soon and decided to give her a surprise. A few food-like toys for her kids kitchen - a gift from her parents for the Christmas holidays.
The first thing I decided to tackle is breakfast. What better breakfast than 2 fried eggs. In the pictures you will see them in a saucer from a coffee cup.
It all started with the yolk. I made a half circle in yellow. Then using just the front stitch I made a row of white for the white. Using only front or back stitches helps to make breaks and right angles when you need to have them. In this case I wanted there to be a distinct difference in the height of the yolk and the white.
Unfortunately there are no pictures of the yolk knitting because my phone was in my son's hand and I knitted them without taking a picture.

After knitting the eggs in the smallest possible size - they will still be for a children's kitchen, I thought about how to pack them - the amazing idea of putting them in plastic containers of Kinder chocolate eggs came to my mind. If you're not aware of how big they are, imagine a big egg and the biggest possible container is tucked into it.
I folded them up and closed the containers.
