I tell you that, as part of my ideas and recycling projects, I wanted to make a lining or suit to my little warrior, my sewing machine. The design was simple because I had time to run several errands.
For me it was important to make this cover because I live surrounded by nature and my machine is exposed to dust, sunlight, insects and any external thing that is commonly found in the countryside.

Les cuento que, como parte de mis ideas y proyectos de reciclaje, le quise hacer un forro o traje a mi guerrerita, mi máquina de coser. El diseño lo realicé sencillo porque tenía el tiempo contado para hacer varias diligencias.
Para mí era importante hacer este forro porque vivo rodeada de naturaleza y mi máquina está expuesta al polvo, a la luz solar, insectos y cualquier cosita externa que comúnmente hay en el campo.
I planned to make it with a piece of fabric I had left over from a sheet I invented some time ago. This fabric enchanted me from the first time I saw it because it has several colors (which I think contrast very well with each other) and the patterns range from circles to large flowers.
It took me one day to take the measurements on the machine and cut the pieces and another day to sew and fine tune the details.
The first thing to do is to choose the fabric and decide if you will put pockets or not, if it will be lined or not, if it will be decorated or not, that is, what design is practical for you according to your needs.

Me tomó un día tomarle las medidas a la máquina y cortar las piezas y otro día para coser y afinar los detalles.
Lo primero que se hace es elegir la tela y decidir si le pondrás bolsillos o no, si va forrada o no, si va decorada o no, es decir, que diseño es práctico para ti según tus necesidades.

Then, take the measurements to the machine (just as if I were a customer 😄) and start cutting the pieces. For this, I took into account that the machine is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.
Since I thought about this project, I decided that I wanted a large side pocket where I could store the foot pedal and cord, so if I'm not going to sew for a few days, I don't leave the machine plugged in or the cord laying around. This pocket has a cover that I sewed with the same fabric and a little piece of Velcro or magic clasp.
Luego, tomar las medidas a la máquina (tal como que fuera una clienta 😄) y empezar a cortar las piezas. Para esto, tomé en cuenta que la máquina es angosta arriba y ancha abajo.
Desde que pensé en este proyecto, decidí que quería un bolsillo lateral grande donde pudiera guardar el pedal y el cable, así si no voy a coser durante unos cuantos días, no dejo la máquina enchufada ni el cable puesto por allí. Este bolsillo lleva una tapa que cosí con la misma tela y un pedacito de Velcro o cierre mágico.

When joining the pieces together I repaired all the edges to give it more security, I put a handle on the top and a traditional hem around the edge.
De igual forma quería que tuviera unos bolsillos delanteros pequeños que me sirvan para meter cualquier cosa que quiera tener a la mano o simplemente para lucirlos como decoración.
Al unir las piezas repisé todos los bordes para darle más seguridad, le coloqué un asa en la parte superior y un ruedo tradicional en todo el borde.
