Good day, ladies and gentlemen! Once again, a big thank you to all the guessers who have joined me for the last two weeks. It sure has been fun working on the projects because of you guys. We are now on Week 3! Yipee!!!
For the first week, the project started with a square. The second week, we used a triangle to begin the swimwear top. For this week, our project starts with another shape. It's a lot more simple but it's a big bigger than my previous Guess the WIP projects.
This week, we will be working with a circle! And I assure you, this was all just a big coincidence. Although the first two projects were requested by my daughter, this one is a commissioned work. I hope my client likes it when she finally has it. :)
For this project, I'll be using khakhi brown colored 8 ply polyester yarn. It could have been black but I remembered having a hard time working on those black on black earsavers ordered by a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. Man, that was quite a challenge! Now I know why crocheters charge higher if it's for a black yarn.
I'll be using the 3.5mm crochet hook from my easy grip set. The one with the plastic handles. This has become my favorite set because 1, my full metal set was borrowed by my crochet student and has not yet been returned (most likely because of the quarantine) and 2, because I have a tight grip and metal hooks tend to give my fingers some hook marks at the end of a very long time of crocheting.
This project will once again consist of DCs. The only variation would be that there are dc inc's (increase) on each rounds. When working with a circle pattern, you need to make sure there are enough increases on each round so your work will lay flat. For this project, I want it to lay flat when finished. There should be just enough inc's, not too much so it won't create a wavy or ruffled finish.
Bonus clue:
There will be a bunch of pompoms on the edge of this project. I'm not following a pattern, the client just gave me a photo from pinterest and I'm playing it by ear. I hope my version looks as good as the photo.
Once again, the winners will win 1 hive each. Everyone who joins will share all the liquid rewards of this post. So feel free to upvote and share this post to gain more visibility.
