So right now, our country is on enhanced community quarantine which is a fancy term for lock down. A lot of people get too hung up with the terminologies but to me, it only means one thing: we are not allowed to go out like we do before because of the virus. I am totally fine with it, to be honest. It's the most logical thing to do to help delay if not stop the spread of the virus.
It's also a good time to work on those crochet projects. I got to be honest though, business is not looking good for me right now. Transportation is suspended, establishments closed, and so on and so forth. I am here at home, holding on to the commissioned projects I have yet to ship to the clients. It sucks. But I know it will pass and if my clients back out, I'll just the items online. So I'm still chill.
I'd like to show you one of the projects I worked on. The Hello Kitty headset cover. It could actually work as a headband design too. I made the design versatile to fit those headgears.
I started with the strap first. It's composed 4 rows of 40 single crochets. This is the part that attaches to the headset. And this is also where the ears and the bow will be attached to.
The pattern for the ears came from the very first crochet book I ever bought. If my husband wasn't with me on that bookstore, I might have bought more than one crochet book that day. These are four pieces of triangle ears. To make one hello kitty ear, ypu got to attach two triangles togetger with sc all over. I just weaved the ear to the strap using a tapestry needle.
The bow pattern also came from that book. I just adjusted it a bit so it could work with the ears and the strap. The bow was attached to the strap with a tapestrg needle as well.
And of course, my project wouldn't be complete if I did not model it. LOL. Hopefully my client likes it. As soon as she gets it, that is. Of course, I'll have to ship it first. I just hope all of these lockdowns, quarantines and viruses are over soon.
As always, keep safe everyone. Stay indoors, wash your hands frequently. Let's all hope for the best.
