Hello to all sewing lovers! After a long time without publishing here, I would like to show you a plush that I did based on a character of a video game called Summonner War. This plush is a birthday gift that I prepared for my boyfriend 
The first thing I did, was to look for character references itself. Since it is quite simple, it was enough for a couple of images. In the case of more elaborate plushes, it is best to look for enough references about different character poses to be able to add to the design all the details you have.
Then, I created the pattern. For this I used a white sheet on which, I elaborated the drawing of the pieces. As it is easy to draw, this is the method I use to make patterns of my plushes, but sometimes, many patterns can be obtained online, available to be printed. Once ready, I trimmed the pieces to be transferred to the fabric.
In this case, I cut with its respective sewing increase: 2 pieces in black color for the body, 4 pieces in blue color for horns, 4 pieces of blue color, 4 pieces black for wings and other 2 pieces violet for wings. Preferably, when making plushes, a soft and elastic fabric must be chosen. But in my case, I worked with available materials and the only elastic fabric I was available, was the one I used for the horns
Then, I started with the seams. I completely sewed, the pieces corresponding to the eyes. While the pieces corresponding to the horns, the sewers leaving an opening at the bottom. I turned the pieces of the horns and proceeded to fill them with some cones that I elaborated with pieces of padded fabric.
When I do not have special filling for plushes, sometimes pieces of fabrics can also serve. For the pieces of the eyes, I made a small cut in one of the fabric layers that allowed me to flip the pieces and thus, get eyes with edges without fraying.
For the wings, I sewed the black fabrics on top of the violet fabrics, as if I was doing a sandwich. One of the black fabrics (the one that remains in the middle), should be sewn only at the top with the rest of the fabrics. The other remaining (the other black part and the violet), must be semitted together almost completely, because we should not forget to leave a space to flip the piece. Once the piece turns, the black part of the center, will be like a layer that “covers” to the others. I cut two pieces of felt with the shape of the wings and put them inside the pieces that had just sewed, to give them shape. Then, I made a seam on the bottom of the violet fabric, to step on the fabric.
Making the detail of the wings, I think it was the most dicily and tedious part for me, since basically, it was something that came up while examining the character because he had neither the most remote idea of how to achieve that effect. I made a few cuts to the black pieces of the wings (the one that was in the middle), as shown in the image. Next, those cuts allowed me to bend the fabric and then sew it to the way I wanted. For this, I had to resort to the seam by hand and I consider that, I am not very good with it. Still, do not look so bad and I really liked how they were at the end.
Returning to the pieces of the eyes. I utiquated the same in the piece corresponding to the body of the plush and sewers with a small seam in Zig Zag. Since I wanted to give him some hardness to the piece, he annexed the same to a piece of felt. But it is not necessary if the filling we have is thick. In my case, as I was going to use polystyrene filling, I preferred to make this step.
The following, it was sewing the wings to the piece of the body with a simple seam. As I usually place a label to the plush that I perform (as a personal stamp), I took advantage of sewing it as well. Once this is done, I sewed both pieces corresponding to the body, leaving at the top, an opening that allowed me to flip the plush to flip.
Once I turned it down, I proceeded to fill it up. I like more fill in the plush with “Guata”, which is how a kind of cotton. I consider that they give more ways to the plushes . Although in this case, I used small polystyrene balls. They are good for pillows. Although over time, I have noticed that they usually stretch too much and lose the form. Something that does not happen with stuffed pillows with a more compact material.
Finally, I sewed the horns with a handwriting and with that, the plush of Devilmon, was ready. I was very pleased as it was despite not having the right materials. Create plushes I love, I hope you have the opportunity to dedicate myself back to this activity and bring other projects to this cute community, which is from my favorites (although it could not contribute as much as I would like).

¡Hola a todos los amantes de la costura! Luego de un tiempo largo sin publicar por acá, me gustaría mostrarles un peluche que hice basado en un personaje de un videojuego llamado Summonner Wars. Éste peluche se trata de un regalo de cumpleaños que elaboré para mi novio
Lo primero que hice, fue buscar referencias del personaje en sí. Dado que es bastante sencillo, me bastó con un par de imágenes. En el caso de peluches más elaborados, lo mejor es buscar suficientes referencias sobre distintas poses del personaje para poder agregar al diseño todos los detalles que tenga.
Luego, creé el patrón. Para ello utilicé una hoja blanca sobre la cual, elaboré el dibujo de las piezas. Como se me hace fácil dibujar, éste es el método que uso para hacer patrones de mis peluches, pero en ocasiones, muchos patrones se pueden conseguir por internet, disponibles para ser impresos. Una vez listas, recorté las piezas para ser transferidas a la tela.
En éste caso, corté con su respectivo aumento de costura: 2 piezas en color negro para el cuerpo, 4 piezas en color azul para los cuernos, 4 piezas de color azul para los ojos, 4 piezas de color negro para las alas y otras 2 piezas de color violeta para las alas. De preferencia, a la hora de realizar peluches, se debe escoger una tela suave y elástica. Pero en mi caso, trabajé con materiales disponibles y la única tela elástica que tenía a disposición, fue la que utilicé para los cuernos.
Luego, comencé con las costuras. Cosí por completo, las piezas correspondientes a los ojos. Mientras que las piezas correspondientes a los cuernos, las cosí dejando una abertura en la parte inferior. Volteé la piezas de los cuernos y procedí a rellenarlas con unos conos que elaboré con trozos de tela acolchada.
Cuando no tengo relleno especial para peluches, en ocasiones, trozos de telas también puede servir. Para las piezas de los ojos, realicé un pequeño corte en una de las capas de tela que me permitiera voltear las piezas y así, obtener unos ojos con bordes sin deshilachados.
Para las alas, cosí las telas negras encima de las telas violeta, como si estuviera haciendo un sandiwch. Una de las telas negras (la que queda en el medio), debe coserse sólo en la parte superior con el resto de las telas. Las otras restantes (la otra pieza negra y la violeta), deben coserse juntas casi por completo, porque no debemos olvidar dejar un espacio para voltear la pieza. Una vez que la pieza se voltee, la pieza negra del centro, quedará como una capa que "cubre" a las otras. Corté dos piezas de fieltro con la forma de las alas y las metí dentro de las piezas que acababa de coser, para darles forma. Luego, realicé una costura en la parte inferior de la tela violeta, para pisar la tela.
Hacer el detalle de las alas, considero que fue la parte más dicífil y tediosa para mí, ya que básicamente, fue algo que se me ocurrió mientras examinaba el personaje porque no tenía ni la más remota idea de cómo lograr ese efecto. Hice unos cortes a las piezas negras de las alas (la que quedó en medio), como se muestra en la imagen. Seguidamente, esos cortes me permitieron doblar la tela para luego, coserla a la forma que deseaba. Para ello, tuve que recurrir a la costura a mano y considero que, no soy muy buena con ello. Aún así, no luce tan mal y realmente me gustaron cómo quedaron al final.
Regresando a las piezas de los ojos. Ubiqué las mismas en la pieza correspondiente al cuerpo del peluche y las cosi con una costura pequeña en zig zag. Puesto que deseaba darle algo de dureza a la pieza, anexé la misma a un trozo de fieltro. Pero no es necesario si el relleno que tenemos es grueso. En mi caso, como iba a utilizar relleno de poliestireno, preferí hacer éste paso.
Lo siguiente, fue coser las alas a la pieza del cuerpo con una costura simple. Como suelo colocarle una etiqueta a los peluches que realizo (como sello personal), aproveché de coserla también. Una vez hecho esto, cosí ambas piezas correspondientes al cuerpo, dejando en la parte superior, una abertura que me permitiese voltear el peluche.
Una vez que lo volteé, procedí a rellenarlo. Me gusta más rellenar los peluches con "guata", que es cómo una especie de algodón. Considero que dan más forma a los peluches. Aunque en éste caso, utilicé pequeñas bolitas de poliestireno. Son buenas para almohadas. Aunque con el tiempo, he notado que las mismas suelen estirarse demasiado y pierden la forma. Algo que no ocurre con las almohadas rellenas con un material más compacto.
Finalmente, cosí los cuernos con una costura a mano y con eso, el peluche de Devilmon, ya estuvo listo. Me agradó mucho cómo quedó a pesar de no contar con los materiales adecuados. Crear peluches me encanta, ojalá tenga la oportunidad de volver a dedicarme en ésta actividad y de traer otros proyectos a ésta comunidad tan linda, que es de mis favoritas (aunque no haya podido contribuir tanto como quisiera).
