Hello needle-workers, how are you all?
Today I want to discuss about a new needletwork that I have done last week. It's something new for me as I have tried first time an upholstery fabric embroidery for using as table cloth.
My new recent embroidery work
You know that upholstery are the fabrics used as covering different furniture and equipments. Due to its nature and utility, it requires to be a little bit thicker than the other fabrics.
As it was my first attempt about upholstery fabric embroidery work, I used normal white fabric with chain stitch. Point should be noted that upholstery fabric is better to be deep color. Otherwise it becomes gloomy.
01. Drawing the basic design
Firstly I draw the basic outline of the design with removable ink and exposure of the expected design on the upholstery..
02. Chain stitches for the outline
According to the expected design drawn by a removable ink pen, I used green thread with long chain stitches to embroider the outlines of the design..
03. Embroider zigzag pattern inner side
Then made embroidery using red threads zigzag designs. This zigzag designs are used to fill the inner side of the outlines and enhance the brightness..
04. Cross stitches at the edges
After completing the needle-work at the whole body of the on going embroidered upholstery, I used to lock by the cross stitches whole fabric edges..
05. Completed the embroidered upholstery
Then the upholstery is ready for use..
