While travelling northwest yesterday, I brought along some 3mm macramé cord and a 6.5mm crochet needle to make the most of the journey.
I started stitching aimlessly as i did not have a clear plan in mind.
I decided on Something for summer, a neck pouch with a short handle so it doesn’t swing around when I’m on the move so I started with a chain for the width I wanted, then single crocheted all the way through.
And worked single crochet all the way through, adding three single crochets into the last stitch to round the corner.
Then, I crocheted along the other side of the chain, finishing with two single crochets at the end to form a symmetrical base.
From there, I built up the sides with rounds of single crochet.
So last night I tried to finish what I had started.
The orange cord was just enough to form the base, so I added a brown trim to finish the top.
I made a chain for a short handle that won’t swing around while I’m on the move.
I continued sc all around the edge.
and all through the handle to reinforce it and make it strong and seamless.
This afternoon, I decided to embellish it a bit since it felt a little bare.
I started with a simple crocheted line across the front, but halfway through, I changed its direction. The result looked like an abstract mountain, so I added a sun accent to make the design pop.
It turned into a totally unintentional but very simple design.
I really like how it turned out.

The material feels durable, and the short sling sits comfortably around my neck, keeping the pouch close and within sight.
Very useful for holding small essentials.
And it can be turned into a little basket! Looks delicate but tough.
Good for picking a few leaves and flowers for tea.
I even went shopping with it today!
Wishing you a wonderful day!
