Good day hiveans.i want to first of all thank God almighty for another bright and beautiful day and for the privilege of seeing another day.this can only be God and i give him all the praise.
It amazing how fashion, i mean modern ones has grown and change our mentality from the olden days own.no matter the style their is always a different way to achieve it stylishly and it's always come out beautiful.
Yea, today i have come again to share with us my little knowledge in achieving this beautiful baby gown dresses.
These are the items I used in achieving them.
--- my tape roll
--- my tailors chalk
--- my ruler
--- my measurement book
--- the vintage fabric am working with.
Yea, these are simple gown as you can see. so i folded my fabric into four with the largest part of her body which is the hip round circumference .leaving one point five inches allowance for the zipper(1.5")
I measure the full length of my clients body that am working with and I subtracted eight inches from it which is for the flare at the down part.i also added one inch allowance.
I took my tape and from the folded edge i measure her shoulder divided by two i mark from there I come down by one inch (1") for shoulder slope from there I mark six inches (6") for her arm hole.
Remember i told us that, to get your arm hole measurement, all you need to do is to divide your burst round circumference by six and add one point five or two inches to it.that will give you your arm hole measurement.
I went back to the shoulder line again from that folded edge and i measure two points seven five(2.75") for her neck width and also took three inches for her neck depth and I curve it because is a rough neck am cutting.
After that i input all other vertical measurements such as from shoulder to burst line eight inches.i add the burst round circumference divided by four plus two inches allowance there. shoulder to twelve inches for the waist, i divided the waist round circumference add allowance and mark.
I also measure from shoulder to seventeen inches, add my hip round circumference divided by four with two inches allowance there and mark. and i also measured what I have at the hip line and I took it down to the hem line and mark.this is to give the dress a little fitness.
To cut the flare i folded my fabric again into four and from the folded edge i input my round hip circumference divided by eight not four.the reason is because am making a gather stitches there and when it gathers much, the fitness comes out so that's why you need times two of that round hip measurement.
Is so simple, you fold it the same way we fold and cut our peplums that we usually attach to our tops.
So after these,i move straight to the sewing machine to sew it.
So guys here is the final look of the finished work.hope is beautiful.
I also want to appreciate my wonderful friends on the Hive block chain who has never forgotten me for once but always like, comments and give me good upvotes.may thylord bless you all Amen.
