Hello lovelies!
This is just a tid bit display of the background work towards making a corporate wrap dress using two-and-a-half yards of fabric.
Before cutting out a fabric to sew, the first step for me is sketching out the idea in my head for specific fabrics (taking into cognisance the texture, weight and feel of the fabric) as shown below then clipping a piece of the fabric to the sketched work.
Even if it is a picture shown to me, I must sketch out the outfit which prepares my mind for the beautiful work at hand.
A sketch of two outfits to be sewn. In this case we are dealing with the first
Taking out specifically the measurement shown below these cut-out fabrics. I did some calculations of divisions by four’s and by two’s as written below.
The different patterns are cut out with a replica of linings - a light fabric to make the inner clothing soft and comfy on the body.
A coined out measurement of the main measurement taken from my friend using an inch side measuring tape.
Sewing together the different cut out parts of fabrics with an electronic (industrial) sewing machine
Whist sewing I changed my mind on the length of the sleeve as it is a thick fabric covered all the way through. With the weather being hot, a three quarter length of sleeve will do just fine.
Viola! The end result
It took almost two days to get this done😓
I hope she loves it.🤞😁
Thank you for indulging me 💕
