Hello needleworkers! I found a quick way to make a bow tie that can be used as a fashion accessory. You can attach this to dresses, skirts and even make it a regular sized one for wearing around the neck.
Things You Need
Fabric
Cloth gum
Hemming tape
Needle & thread
So first, you need to place your fabric on fold and on the folded end mark 15 inches, and 12 inches along the length and cut out.
Open the folded fabric and on the wrong side, iron the cloth gum on half of the fabric. The heat will make it stick.
Fold the fabric into two on the wrong side and sew around the open edge leaving 5 inches open.
Pull inside out from the 5 inches opening.
Stuff the open end with hemming tape and iron press to have a seamless finish.
Next, cut a 5 by 3 inches piece of fabric and fold. Sew to close the open end and turn inside out. Sew half an inch off the side and turn inside out.
Pleat the bow and pass it through the small loop sewn.
...And here's your bow tie!
