Hello everyone!
Some time ago, I joined a training program to sew bed cover sets in my area. This training program is free and can be joined by anyone. Since I've wanted to be able to sew for a long time, I decided to join this training program. After a few days of being taught how to use a sewing machine and the theory of sewing a bed cover, we finally practiced directly how to make a bed cover. The steps that need to be taken when making a bed cover are as follows
▪︎Starting from cutting the fabric with a size of 200 cm × 200 cm as many as 2 sheets and also draconian foam with the same size.
▪︎The fabric is placed on the draconic foam with the embossed fabric motif on the inside and do the basting stitch with a mattress needle rather than shifting the fabric and facilitate the sewing process. Cut off excess draconian foam.
▪︎ Sew each side and increase by 30 cm to turn the draconic foam part of the bed cover.
▪︎Cut the excess draconic foam again to the size of the fabric.
▪︎Turn the foam side inward through the 30 cm hole we left earlier, then sew the perforated part with a hand needle.
And this is is the result.
Next we will make the motif on the bed cover. You can make the pattern according to your taste. I made a square motif with a diamond shape on the inside.
▪︎To make the pattern, draw using chalk first.
▪︎Make the first square shape at a distance of 15 cm from the edge of the bed cover.
▪︎Make the second square shape 20 cm away from the first square shape.
▪︎Then we draw a rhombus shape through the center of each side line of the second square shape.
▪︎Then do the basting stitch following the lines we have made.
▪︎Then sew again following the pattern that we have basting stitch earlier. When sewing a bed cover, we need a little energy to pull from the front of the machine so that the stitches are neat.
Taraaa, my first bed cover is finished. It turns out that making a bed cover is very difficult because of its large shape and it was my first time holding a sewing machine. Not so bad for a first try.
Is there anyone here who is good at sewing bed cover? Please teach me the easy technique 😁
Thank you for your support guys.
