Greetings! Dear Hive friends! How are you all?
I just had a long weekend and it feel so refreshing. Here, I'll let you take a peek on the best view I had for years. I'd be making a post about it soon.
Do yo like the view? I hope you do.
But without another interruption, let me start with my share for this week.
Last month, my co-worker, Karen asked me to do a crochet panty for her. Attaching elastics to panites would be tricky so I turned it to a bikini. after all she'll be using it for her husband in their wedding anniversary next week.
Here it is! I had to do the finishing touches yet but they are already looking like a two-piece bikini.
This is how the lower part looked like when I was doing it. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to take pictures while doing it. I used a 3mm crochet hook and two-ply bag closer thread.
Yes! I'm using a bag closer thread the one used on closing bags of rice and flour, only this is colored. The old toll miller in the company I worked for is using this on their feeds(color coding) but then it got damaged.
The outer part was messed and they had to throw it because ti will only make trouble when used in the machine.
I unraveled some from the cone and tied it to a styrofoam. I find it hard to use because the styro gets stuck whenever I pull the thread off.
So Iunravelled another thread and rolled it into a ball. This time, It was easier to use and I went to work faster.
Honestym it took me some days to finish my work since I had to tend to other things too.
Then last week,on Wednesday, I was finally determined to finish my work.
Just as when I was encouraged to do so, my husband was not able to get the daughter off from school. I tried to call home but nobody is answering so I went home form work to check on her and found them at home.
Cinvunced that they are safe, (my mother is around)I went bac to work and finished my work.
I always use my lunch break time to do crochet but I got invited to a birthday lunch! It took me some time to eat and chat with my co-workers
Water melon attracted me the most so I ate lots of it.
Finally, needle time!
Since I started crochet, I always do this when adding a bra pad.
It'll make the attaching easy since I will then be stitching the pad through the stitches I made around it.
I did all my best tio make the stitches look uniform but I guess only the perfectionist will notice it.
I don't have sewing pins in my workplace so I had to improvise; I sewed the pad on the bikini top, then sewed around . This way, the pad won't be moved as I work on it.
One down, One to go! Yousee how neat my work is? Or do you find it neat?
Lining the bikini bottom
I never lined a bikini before. But I have seen people doing it with a cotton spandex fabric. Good thing a baby pink color fabric was included in teh fabrics I bought last January.
I traced teh bikini perimeter adn cut 2 mm before it. I thought it was okay but was still too much so Ihad to ctut gain and finally, perfect fit.
I had a hard time choosing what thread to use but I followed my instinct because it tole me I should use white.
I was very careful while sewing, and I am confident that my stsches won't be visible on teh good side. I was pretty proud of myself ,in fact.
Till I looked closer. Dang! I messed up!
Emotions flowed but peace came in and I decide I will bring it home and use my sewing machine. I hope a zigzag will do.
I had lots of time to do so but I was not able to finish it because I had no thread to match its color.
Hopefully tonight, I will be able to finish it and turn my work into cash, haha!
I had been financially tight these days and I blame it for my laziness.
Well there you go, I know I wrote too much and I hope you didn't find it boring. That will be all for now, I hope to see you around. Keep safe and stay happy.
I Iove you all!
