Empecé un nuevo proyecto de costura 🧵 que empezó con un dibujo, retomé mi cuaderno de costura y estoy trabajando un poco en hacer cosas nuevas para mí, quiero tops nuevos así que voy a ir repasando y revisando diferentes referencias que tengo en mis guardados de pinterest.

I picked up my sewing notebook again and I'm working on making some new things for myself. I want to make new tops, so I'm going to review and look at different inspirations I have saved on Pinterest.
Hice un dibujo de cosas que quería hace tiempo, como una camisa de denim que sea amplia, pero a la vez que se amolde un poco al cuerpo, mi dibujo tiene dobles pespuntes, bolsillos, cuello muy amplio, como de camisa y la espalda tendrá canesú, y un tablón.
I made a drawing of things I've wanted for a long time, like a denim shirt that's loose, but at the same time fits the body a bit. My drawing has double stitching, pockets, a very wide collar, like a shirt collar, and the back will have a yoke and a pleat.
Empecé con la molderia, desde la base, que tomé de largo hasta segunda cadera porque no estoy usando cosas tan cortas.
I started with the pattern, from the base, which I made long up to the second hip because I'm not using things that short.
Amplíe 3 cm para los costados sacando el entalle, achique las pinzas, baje la sisa y amplíe los hombros, esto siempre es prueba y error, nunca se cuánto sumar para estar segura, pero haciendo pruebas de calce me voy dando cuenta.
Add 3 cm to the sides by removing the waistband, reduce the darts, lower the armhole and widen the shoulders. This is always trial and error; I never know how much to add to be sure, but by doing fitting tests I figure it out.
Roté la pinza del frente hacia el hombro, para generar el recorte que está en el dibujo, en el papel se veía extraño así que me tuve que poner a hacer una tual, esto me ayuda a ver todas las correcciones antes de cortar la tela final de lo que será la prenda, y me queda bastante lienzo que compré el año pasado para la facultad.
I rotated the front dart towards the shoulder to create the cutout shown in the drawing. It looked strange on paper, so I had to make a mock-up. This helps me see all the corrections before cutting the final fabric for the garment, and I still have quite a bit of canvas left that I bought last year for college.
Esta vez la tual la corte en lienzo, son 4 piezas del frente, y 3 piezas de la espalda, las mangas aún no están pensadas así que no las hice, y en general no suelen presentarse problemas.
This time I cut the tual from canvas; there are 4 pieces for the front and 3 pieces for the back. The sleeves haven't been planned yet, so I didn't make them, and in general, problems don't usually arise.
Cuando empecé a coser ya me di cuenta de cosas a modificar, el frente queda en pico por que como se veía en el molde no suavice esas pinzas, así que me anoté modificarlo. La espalda es fácil de coser y en este caso no hice el tablón, eso estará en la prenda final.
When I started sewing, I immediately noticed things that needed adjusting. The front is pointed because, as shown in the pattern, I didn't soften those darts, so I made a note to modify it. The back is easy to sew, and in this case, I didn't make the pleat; that will be in the final garment.

Cuando fui a unir hombros y costados me di cuenta de algo y es que necesito modificar bien el largo ya que a la hora de cortar sume 5 cm, pero cuando cosí los costados encontré un escalón entre frente y espalda, a veces olvido poner los moldes uno al lado del otro para ver esto, pero por suerte era un tual y es preferible que pase en este punto.
When I went to join the shoulders and sides, I realized something: I need to adjust the length properly because when I cut, I added 5 cm. But when I sewed the sides, I found a step between the front and back. Sometimes I forget to put the patterns side by side to see this, but luckily it was a minor issue, and it's better that it happens at this point.
Con esta tual puedo saber que cosas quiero modificar en general sin gastar tela final, por ejemplo, voy a bajar la sisa un poco más, esta sisa es muy arriba entonces 3 cm no es suficiente. Voy a sumarle un poco más en el ancho, la idea es que me quede más suelto, no es un top en sí, sino una camisa sin botones, no sé cómo llamarla exactamente jajaja.
With this swatch, I can figure out what I want to change in general without wasting fabric. For example, I'm going to lower the armhole a bit more; it's too high, so 3 cm isn't enough. I'm also going to add a little more width. The idea is to make it looser; it's not a top per se, but a button-down shirt—I'm not sure what to call it exactly, haha.
Los hombros están bien, pero podrían caer un poco más aún, pero la cuestión es que no estoy segura de cómo hacer esta transformación para quitar la copa del todo o sacarla en su mayoría, creo que debería hacer una manga japonesa, debo revisar mis apuntes de costura para ver que hago con esto al final.
The shoulders are fine, but they could drop a little more, but the thing is I'm not sure how to make this transformation to remove the cup completely or take it off mostly, I think I should make a Japanese sleeve, I need to check my sewing notes to see what I do with this in the end.
Pero hacer esta base me ayuda a transformar toda la molderia para que se ajuste a exactamente lo que quiero hacer, seguro después de modificar los moldes ya lo haga en tela final, pero tengo que revisar mi bolsa de tela jajaja,tambien tengo que hacer el molde de los bolsillos, para ver tamaño y creo que voy a eliminar las mangas, son decisiones que debo tomar, pero ya les mostraré la próxima.
But making this base helps me transform all the patterns so that they fit exactly what I want to do. I'm sure that after modifying the patterns I'll make it in the final fabric, but I have to check my fabric bag, haha. I also have to make the pocket pattern to see the size, and I think I'm going to eliminate the sleeves. These are decisions I have to make, but I'll show you next time.
