Cuando el nuevo concurso de coser tu temporada se lanzó me pareció super atractiva la consigna, es verano en Argentina pienso en una prenda en específico, el verano en mi país es caluroso, y como vivo en la provincia de Buenos Aires también es muy húmedo, nuestro verano alcanza temperaturas de hasta 40 grados en sus peores tiempos, hay días mejores donde tenemos menos de 30 grados, pero el verano acá es duro y caluroso, se necesitan prendas muy frescas para pasarlo bien.

La prenda del verano es el vestido acá se usan algunos modelos en particular en verano, como son vestidos con falda acampanada, soleros que tiene una silueta más recta o los de falda fruncida, pero en general son vestidos ajustados arriba y sueltos en la falda caída desde la cintura y no muy largos, el material también es importante ya que necesitamos que la piel respire, la fibrana es un tejido de algodón muy fresco, con estampados muy diversos, fácil de lavar y muy amable para coser, es ideal para vestidos casuales aunque también hay buenas propuestas más elegantes en el mercado, elegí fibrana porque es accesible y el estampado me gustó muchísimo.

Para hacer mi vestido utilicé el molde de corpiño base con leves modificaciones, que fueron bajar el cuello trasero y delantero y evitar las pinzas traseras y delanteras, para dejar algo de holgura.
Para la falda simplemente corte un rectángulo ya que me daba pereza hacer moldes y sigo sin comprar papel para ello jaja así que todas mis modificaciones las hice directamente en la tela.
To make my dress I used the base bodice pattern with slight modifications, which were lowering the front and back neckline and avoiding the front and back darts, to leave some slack. For the skirt I simply cut a rectangle since I was too lazy to make molds and I still don't buy paper for it haha so I made all my modifications directly on the fabric.
Para terminaciones de cuellos utilicé vistas, que también las corte en la misma tela sin hacer molde previo jajaja aunque la foto da desprolijo hay que confiar en el proceso, aunque es algo difícil que una vista salga mal por eso fui por esta terminación, es un proceso con lo que estoy muy familiarizada.
For the neck finishes I used views, which I also cut in the same fabric without making a previous mold hahaha although the photo is messy, you have to trust the process, although it is somewhat difficult for a view to go wrong, that's why I went for this finish, it is a process with which I am very familiar.

Cosi los cuellos, hice mis costuras de retención y con mucho amor y plancha todo quedó bien, la plancha a vapor es muy buena para esta tela, pero pequeño detalle puede encoger la tela así que hay que usarla a temperatura no muy alta.
I sewed the collars, I did my retention seams and with a lot of love and an iron everything turned out well, the steam iron is very good for this fabric, but small details can shrink the fabric so you have to use it at a not very high temperature.
Tambien corté unas tiras de 4 cm de ancho y 40 cm de largo para terminación de mangas, no tenía cinta bies negra así que simplemente hice un ribete, podría haber fabricado mi propia cinta bies, pero es un proceso con el cual no me llevo nada bien, estas cintas se pliegan a la mitad, se planchan a vapor y se cosen con overlook, la aplicación es simple y el resultado me gusta mucho.
I also cut some 4 cm wide and 40 cm long strips to finish the sleeves, I didn't have black bias tape so I just made a edging, I could have made my own bias tape, but it's a process with which I don't get anything well, these tapes are folded in half, steam ironed and sewn with an overlook, the application is simple and I really like the result.
Para la unión de la falda con la parte superior fruncí usando este vistoso pie de máquina, lo que hace es sostener el elástico dándole algo de tensión y hace un poco más fácil el proceso de pegarlo a una prenda, se supone que es para sábanas, pero me funcionó muy bien.
For the union of the skirt with the upper part I shirred using this attractive machine foot, what it does is hold the elastic giving it some tension and makes the process of gluing it to a garment a little easier, it is supposed to be for sheets, but it worked very well for me.
Con la falda fruncida y la parte superior terminada uní con overlook ya que la tela lo requiere y fui haciendo algunas pruebas para ver alguna modificación antes de terminar, pero todo se veía donde yo quería que esté.
With the gathered skirt and the finished upper part, I joined with an overlook since the fabric requires it and I was doing some tests to see some modification before finishing, but everything looked where I wanted it to be.
Algo que me tomo un poco más de tiempo fue determinar el largo y el ruedo, creo que corte la falda unas 3 veces jajaja pero fui cortando de a pocos cm para no pasarme e ir probándolo antes de que todo sea definitivo, en clase de historia vi que antes en los vestidos se solía hacer un ruedo muy ancho aprox 6 cm por si hacía falta alargar pero me enrede mucho en esta parte del proceso ya que no veía que fuese recto y esto me tomo más tiempo, ni siquiera lo hice el mismo día ya que me abrumo y no quería arruinar nada.
Something that took me a little more time was determining the length and the hem, I think I cut the skirt about 3 times hahaha but I cut it a few centimeters so as not to go too far and try it on before everything is final, in history class I saw that before in the dresses they used to make a very wide hem of approximately 6 cm in case it was necessary to lengthen but I got very entangled in this part of the process since I did not see that it was straight and this took me more time, I did not even do it the same day as I got overwhelmed and didn't want to ruin anything.
Para finalizar hice el ruedo planchando y plegando dos veces y pisando costura, también di costura pisada al ribete de las mangas para mejorar su terminación y mi vestido ya estaba listo para la temporada de verano.
To finish, I ironed and folded the hem twice and pressing seams, I also applied pressing seams to the edge of the sleeves to improve their finish and my dress was ready for the summer season.
No soy de usar muchos vestidos, no uso uno hace unos años, mi vestido de graduación fue versátil y lo use hasta sus últimos días jajaja así que es lindo tener un vestido nuevamente que me acompañe, sobre todo que se adapte a todo tipo de calzado, probe este vestido con zapatillas, zapatos bajos, borcegos y plataformas y con todos estuvo bien, así que seguro sea mi prenda de verano y de otoño 2023 😊.
I'm not one to wear many dresses, I haven't worn one for a few years, my prom dress was versatile and I wore it until its last days hahaha so it's nice to have a dress again that accompanies me, especially one that adapts to all kinds of shoes , I tried this dress with sneakers, low shoes, boots and platforms and it was fine with all of them, so it will surely be my summer and fall 2023 garment 😊.
Tengo planeado hacer estos moldes nuevamente de forma más ordenada, con las medias de falda y también con la separación de cuellos y sus indicaciones necesarias para poder volver a recrearla si hace falta en un futuro, eso fue todo, hasta la próxima 😊.
I plan to make these molds again in a more orderly way, with the skirt stockings and also with the separation of the necks and the necessary instructions to be able to recreate it again if necessary in the future, that was all, until next time 😊.
