Hola needleworkers :3 les traigo otro de mis proyectos de verano, de este pudieron ver la previa hace unas semanas, pero ya está finalizado al fin, es una camisa de jean que hice para tener los días donde no hace tanto calor y llevar algo liviano sobre un top es totalmente necesario, use este jean que es un sobrante de tela de la facultad, tengo bastantes telas que sobraron, y entrando este año uno de mis objetivos es usar la gran mayoría o en caso contrario se irán a la donación, eso sería perder dinero pero es que ya no tolero que estén estropeándose sin usar.
Hello needleworkers :3 I'm bringing you another one of my summer projects. You saw a sneak peek of this one a few weeks ago, but it's finally finished! It's a denim shirt I made for those days when it's not too hot and wearing something light over a top is absolutely necessary. I used this denim, which is leftover fabric from college. I have quite a few leftover fabrics, and starting this year, one of my goals is to use most of them, or else they'll go to donation. That would be losing money, but I just can't stand seeing them go to waste without being used.

Para esta camisa hice una tual, sobre la tual tuve que corregir muchas cosas, la profundidad y altura de la pinza, el largo total de la prenda, el ancho de la prenda, y un poco el cuello, es algo que estoy incorporando poco a poco, hacer una tual me permite ver cómo queda el molde antes de cortar tela final y así poder corregir bien lo que quiero que suceda.
For this shirt I made a mock-up. On the mock-up I had to correct many things: the depth and height of the dart, the total length of the garment, the width of the garment, and a little bit of the collar. It's something I'm incorporating little by little. Making a mock-up allows me to see how the pattern looks before cutting the final fabric and thus be able to correct what I want to happen.

Cuando hice todas esas modificaciones pase a la tela final, no tiene tantas piezas, son 4 de espalda, 4 de frente, dos mangas y dos de cuello, sume al final dos piezas más de cartera delantera, porque no iba a tener botones y al final lo tuvo, mi dibujo inicial termino en otra cosa, pero estoy conforme con el resultado.
When I made all those modifications I moved on to the final fabric; it doesn't have that many pieces: 4 for the back, 4 for the front, two sleeves and two for the collar. I added two more pieces for the front pocket at the end because it wasn't going to have buttons, but it ended up having them. My initial drawing ended up as something else, but I'm happy with the result.
Empecé cosiendo la espalda, cada pieza de costado que va unida para que tenga la parte inferior, en esta ocasión arme mi máquina overlock en el escritorio de la computadora y también coloqué la tabla de planchar, así que era una pequeña estación de costura completa.
I started by sewing the back, each side piece that is joined to form the bottom. This time I set up my overlock machine on the computer desk and also placed the ironing board, so it was a complete little sewing station.

Pase overlock y luego cosí el canesú de espalda, y otra vez planchar y pasar overlock a los bordes.

El frente tiene 4 piezas, primero uní lo que sería la pinza y pase overlock al borde, acá fue donde decidí que quería que tuviera botones jajaja.
The front has 4 pieces, first I joined what would be the dart and overlocked the edge, this is where I decided I wanted it to have buttons hahaha.

Uní la prenda por los hombros y cuando me la probé ahí confirmé que tenía que hacer botones y ojales, detesto hacerlos, pero iba a quedar bien.
I joined the garment at the shoulders and when I tried it on I confirmed that I had to make buttons and buttonholes, I hate doing them, but it was going to look good.
Otra decisión fue hacer pespuntes rectos decorativos, en realidad seguí mi dibujo, pero muchas veces me desvío del plan original, esta vez no fue así, así que tomé mi aguja doble e hice los pespuntes, están en la espalda y en el frente, quedan muy bien en la prenda, le dan un toque.
Another decision was to make decorative straight stitches. I actually followed my drawing, but many times I deviate from the original plan. This time it wasn't like that, so I took my twin needle and made the stitches. They are on the back and the front, they look very good on the garment, they give it a touch.
Pasé al cuello, es un cuello camiseta bastante grande sin pie, no es gran ciencia, pero tuve que volver a mis apuntes para repasar, obviamente no se trazar moldería de memoria.
I moved on to the collar; it's a fairly large, footless T-shirt collar. It's not rocket science, but I had to go back to my notes to review; obviously, I can't draft patterns from memory.
Cosí el cuello y lo planche para que quede perfecto, y debía esperar, el cuello es lo último que se coloca.
I sewed the collar and ironed it to make it perfect, and I had to wait, the collar is the last thing to be put on.

Las mangas no dieron mucho problema, agarre un molde que ya tenía, extendí a la medida que necesitaba, corte las piezas y a coser, ya tenía la prenda super avanzada y no había molde de mangas jaja, pero las hice, para coserlas las sujeté con ganchitos, estos me gustan porque no dañan la tela como pueden hacer alfileres sin filo, aunque ya estoy usando mis alfileres buenos en este punto.
The sleeves weren't too difficult. I grabbed a pattern I already had, stretched it to the size I needed, cut out the pieces, and started sewing. I already had the garment well underway and didn't have a sleeve pattern, haha, but I made them anyway. To sew them, I attached them with little hooks. I like these because they don't damage the fabric like dull pins can, although I'm already using my good pins at this point.

Cosí las carteras de ambas partes, eran largas así que hubo que tener paciencia, las cosí como si fuera envolver el borde con bies, hago esa terminación bastante seguido en mis proyectos últimamente, es algo seguro y queda bien, sobre todo es prolijo.
I sewed the wallets on both sides; they were long, so I had to be patient. I sewed them as if I were wrapping the edge with bias tape. I do that finishing technique quite often in my projects lately; it's a safe method and looks good, and above all, it's neat.
Coloqué el cuello y pase a hacer el ruedo, las últimas cosas de costura 🧵 que tendría que hacer, el ruedo es uno simple de un centímetro, que previamente remalle en overlock.
I attached the collar and moved on to hemming, the last sewing things 🧵 I would have to do. The hem is a simple one-centimeter hem, which I previously overlocked.
Pasé a colocar los botones, realmente no tenía botones jaja, pero en casa siempre que se deshecha una prenda con botones los reciclamos, así tengo un frasco con botones de diferentes prendas, con tamaños y colores que a veces no van con mis proyectos, pero en este caso encontré unos azules perfectos, también encontré tachas y casi las pongo, pero desistí.
I moved on to attaching the buttons. I didn't really have any buttons, haha, but at home we always recycle any clothes with buttons we throw away. So I have a jar with buttons from different clothes, with sizes and colors that sometimes don't match my projects, but in this case I found some perfect blue ones. I also found studs and almost added them, but I decided against it.
Hice los benditos ojales, probe bastante entes de ir a la tela final, y si bien hay tutoriales en línea, siempre compruebo y hago al menos 5 antes de pasar a la tela final.
I made the blessed buttonholes, I tested quite a bit before going to the final fabric, and although there are online tutorials, I always check and make at least 5 before moving on to the final fabric.
Con los ojales listos, cosí a mano los botones y mi camisa estaba lista.
With the buttonholes ready, I hand-sewed the buttons and my shirt was finished.
Realmente me tomo un montón de tiempo hacerla, quiero hacer cosas más difíciles poco a poco y esto para mí lo era, así que estoy muy feliz con el resultado, con pequeñas modificaciones podría hacer una chaqueta para el otoño, pero esa obviamente va a llevar bolsillos, tengo muchos proyectos en mente que quiero hacer y espero encontrar este verano el tiempo para hacerlos todos, pero ya lo veremos en otra ocasión.
It really took me a lot of time to make it. I want to do more difficult things little by little, and this was one of those for me, so I'm very happy with the result. With a few modifications, I could make a jacket for autumn, but that one will obviously have pockets. I have many projects in mind that I want to do, and I hope to find the time this summer to do them all, but we'll see about that another time.
