Feliz lunes needleworkers :3 últimamente no vengo haciendo tantas prendas pero si vengo pensando mucho en cómo usar ciertas telas y retazos, tengo demasiados de ellos y no me parece una solución simplemente tirarlos a la basura, si hay algunos que debo clasificar y recircular pero hay muchos que si quiero usar, creo que nunca presenté a mi gato en hive pero tengo un michi hace más de un año y algo que el necesita es pequeños rincones donde dormir, a veces duerme sobre camas, sillas o donde se le ocurra en el momento.

I have too many of them, and simply throwing them away doesn't seem like a solution. There are some that I should sort and reuse, but there are many that I do want to use. I don't think I've ever introduced my cat on Hive, but I've had a kitty for over a year, and something he needs is little corners to sleep in. Sometimes he sleeps on beds, chairs, or wherever he happens to be.
Para usar mis retazos pensé en hacer pequeñas mantas donde el gato se pueda acostar, tengo retazos de polar y frisa, que son telas suaves que al acumularlas son acolchonadas, hay muchos retazos de diferentes tamaños así que para empezar se me ocurrió hacer un acolchonado manual, casi nunca hago cosas con costura a mano, pero ya van a entender por qué.
To use up my scraps, I thought about making small blankets where the cat can lie down. I have scraps of fleece and fleece, which are soft fabrics that become padded when stacked. I had seen several uses of scraps in quilting, but the idea is always with wadding or fleece filling and I don't have either of those, so I'm going to use what I have. It occurred to me that I could make layers of my soft fabrics and that's what I did.
Primero corté unos cuadrados grandes de 40 x 40 estos son los que van a ser visibles, la idea es que sea un poco un sanguche jajaja. Sobre eso empecé a coser a mano los retazos para ir haciendo capa sobre capa, los fui acomodando antes de coserlos para ver si funcionaba un poco la idea.
First, I cut some large 40 x 40 cm squares; these are the ones that will be visible. The idea is for it to look a bit like a sandwich, haha. Then I started hand-sewing the scraps together, layering them on top of each other. I adjusted them before sewing to see if the idea worked.
Aunque no sabía si la idea iba a funcionar a medida que iba sumando más tela esto iba funcionando mejor.
Although I didn't know if the idea was going to work, as I added more fabric it started working better.

No hice una puntada muy elaborada sino una bastante básica, con una aguja manual pequeña y un solo hilo, hacer todas estas puntadas a mano fue bastante cómodo, hacer esto con la máquina de coser iba a ser un poco incomodo, y cuando sean más de 4 capas de tela esto sería un problema.
I didn't make a very elaborate stitch, but a fairly basic one, with a small hand needle and a single thread. Doing all these stitches by hand was quite comfortable; doing this with the sewing machine was going to be a bit awkward, and when there are more than 4 layers of fabric this would be a problem.
Fui sumando casi todos los retazos pequeños y medianos que tenia de esta tela naranja, es bastante cálida para el invierno entonces va a servir para que mi gato se acueste en cualquier lugar sin pasar frio, además de ayudarme a reducir mis retazos, y estas pequeñas mantas serán más fáciles de lavar que las mantas de la casa, ya que deja pelo en todo lo que toca jaja.
I gathered almost all the small and medium-sized scraps I had of this orange fabric. It's quite warm for winter, so it will be perfect for my cat to lie down anywhere without getting cold. It will also help me reduce my scraps, and these little blankets will be easier to wash than the house blankets, since he leaves hair on everything he touches, haha.
Cuando tuve las suficientes capas de tela puse los pedazos más grandes arriba y los bordes los cerré con una puntada simple, voy a hacer varios de estos para que tenga varios, ya que le gusta dormir en cualquier lado y además quiero apilar algunos para que sea más mullido todavía.
Realmente es acolchado y va a servir mucho para que mi gatito no tenga frio este invierno que se viene, aunque todavía tenemos días cálidos el invierno está cerca.
Once I had enough layers of fabric, I put the larger pieces on top and finished the edges with a simple stitch. I'm going to make several of these so he has a good one, since he likes to sleep anywhere, and I also want to stack some to make it even fluffier.It's really padded and will be very useful for keeping my kitten warm this coming winter. Even though we're still having some warm days, winter is definitely on its way.
También le estoy haciendo una versión un poco más grande con polar y otro tipo de telas calentitas, pero esto será un proyecto que quizás tome más tiempo, ya les contaré.
I'm also making a slightly larger version with fleece and other warm fabrics, but this will be a project that might take longer; I'll let you know.
