The story follows Bojji, a young prince who was born with a hearing impairment that prevents him from hearing or speaking, as well as having no physical strength. A terrible thing in a kingdom where strength and skill in battle are highly valued. Because of his condition, Bojji is considered unsuitable to become king. However, the little prince possesses a brave spirit and a tremendous desire to prove that he can be a great king.
This anime is a perfect blend of comedy, action and emotion, but above all heroism, but Bojji is not your typical shonen hero, his story is as inspiring as it is tender and shows us that true power lies in determination and courage. As the plot progresses, the characters develop strong bonds and discover the meaning of friendship, loyalty and kindness.
Story and characters
The story is arguably two-pronged, on the one hand we have Bojji and Kage, his best friend, working together, doing their best to defy everyone's expectations and make Bojji a worthy and respectable king. While, on the other hand, there is all the palace intrigue in which we see the rest of the royal family and the court fighting against a seemingly unknown, but very dangerous enemy, who threatens the stability and succession to the throne. Because of these two story lines, we get to know much more about the fantasy world in which Osama Ranking takes place.
This is undoubtedly one of the strengths of Osama Ranking. The story seems simple at first, but as the chapters progress we discover many secrets and conspiracies that involve not only Bojji and the royal family, but the whole kingdom and even others. The concept of the "Raking of Kings" adds an extra layer of intrigue to the story, as it defines the power structure of nations and establishes a seemingly unattainable dream for Bojji.
But the real heart of this story is the characters, each one is extraordinarily developed, complex and nuanced. There are no perfect characters (perhaps Bojji?), they all have their own ideas and motivations, which despite bordering on villainy, are perfectly understandable due to their background and personalities. Many characters give us a first impression that ends up being wrong, not only because their true intentions are revealed little by little, but also because they mature and change throughout the episodes.
Of course my favourite character is Bojji, which is a strange thing, because normally I don't tend to sympathise with the main characters, however, it's impossible not to sympathise with Bojji. He is such an endearing and caring character that he touches the hearts not only of the other characters, but also of us viewers, teaching us all how valuable and important kindness is, as well as showing us that we should underestimate absolutely no one.
Animation and music
There is nothing more satisfying than a good story accompanied by animation that does it justice. Wit does an excellent job bringing Osama Ranking to life, the colours are beautiful, the character design is different and appealing, the fights are extraordinarily well animated, especially the final fight, it's simply a marvel. I have to say that every time I saw Bojji smile, I smiled too, simply adorable, both the character and his design.
The music is the icing on the cake, it's lively, adorable and heroic, just as it should be. The first opening is a marvel, so much so that I was a bit disappointed that there was a second one, however, that one was also fantastic, as well as the two endings, there was no episode that omitted them. The work of the seiyuu is also remarkable, especially that of Kage, Daida and Queen Hilling, truly extraordinary.
Osama Ranking is without a doubt one of the best anime I've seen lately, maybe the only thing I can criticize is that its ending is a bit strange, but taking into account that it's only the end of the season and that the story continues, I don't think it's so bad that it ended that way. So if you're looking for a good story, animation and music, that makes you feel good and touches your heart, definitely don't miss it.
La Emocionante Aventura de Bojji | Osama Ranking
Hola, otaku-amigos. Esta semana finalmente decidí hacerle caso a la recomendación de
La historia sigue a Bojji, un joven príncipe que nacido con una discapacidad auditiva que no le permite escuchar ni hablar, además de no tener ni una pizca de fuerza física. Algo terrible en un reino donde la fuerza y la habilidad en la batalla son enormemente valoradas. Debido a su condición, Bojji es considerado inadecuado para convertirse en el rey. Sin embargo, el pequeño príncipe posee un espíritu valiente y un deseo tremendo de demostrar que puede ser un gran rey.
Este anime es una mezcla perfecta de comedia, acción y emoción, pero sobre todo de heroísmo, pero Bojji no es el típico héroe shonen, su historia es tan inspiradora como tierna y con ella nos demuestra que el verdadero poder reside en la determinación y el coraje. A medida que avanza la trama, los personajes desarrollan lazos fuertes y descubren el significado de la amistad, la lealtad y la amabilidad.
Historia y personajes
Podría decirse que la historia tiene dos frentes, por un lado, tenemos a Bojji y a Kage, su mejor amigo, trabajando juntos, haciendo lo posible para desafiar las expectativas de todos y hacer de Bojji un rey digno y respetable. Mientras que, por otra parte, se encuentra toda la intriga palaciega en la que vemos al resto de la familia real y a la corte luchar contra un enemigo aparentemente desconocido, pero muy peligroso, que pone en riesgo la estabilidad y la sucesión al trono. Debido estas dos líneas argumentales, podemos conocer mucho más sobre el mundo de fantasía en el que se desarrolla Osama Ranking.
Sin duda, este es uno de los puntos fuertes de Osama Ranking. La historia al principio parece sencilla, pero a medida que avanzan los capítulos vamos descubriendo muchos secretos y conspiraciones que involucran no solamente a Bojji y la familia real, sino a todo el reino e incluso a otros. El concepto del "Raking de Reyes" añade una capa extra de intrigante a la historia, ya que define la estructura de poder de las naciones y establece un sueño aparentemente inalcanzable para Bojji.
Pero el verdadero corazón de esta historia son los personajes, cada uno está extraordinariamente desarrollado, son personajes complejos y con matices. No hay personajes perfectos (¿quizás Bojji?), todos tienen sus propias ideas y motivaciones, las cuales a pesar de rayar en la villanía, son perfectamente entendibles debido a su pasado y a la personalidad de cada uno. Muchos personajes nos brindan una primera impresión que termina siendo errónea, no solamente porque se van revelando poco a poco sus verdaderas intenciones, sino también porque van madurando y cambiando a través de los episodios.
Desde luego que mi personaje favorito es Bojji, lo cual es algo raro, porque normalmente no tiendo a simpatizar con los protagonistas, sin embargo, es imposible no simpatizar con Bojji. Es un personaje tan entrañable y bondadoso que llega al corazón no solo de los demás personajes, sino también al de nosotros los espectadores, enseñándonos a todos lo valiosa e importante que es la amabilidad, además de demostrarnos que no debemos subestimar absolutamente a nadie.
Animación y música
No hay nada más satisfactorio que una buena historia acompañada de una animación que le haga justicia. Wit hace un excelente trabajo dándole vida a Osama Ranking, los colores son hermosos, el diseño de los personajes es diferente y atractivo, las peleas están extraordinariamente bien animadas, sobre todo la pelea final, es sencillamente una maravilla. Tengo que decir que cada vez que veía a Bojji sonreír, yo también lo hacía, simplemente adorable, tanto el personaje como su diseño.
La música es la cereza del pastel, es animada, adorable y heroica, justo como debería ser. El primer opening es una maravilla, tanto que me decepcionó un poco el que hubiera un segundo, sin embargo, ese también fue fantástico, al igual que los dos endings, no hubo capítulo en el que los omitiera. El trabajo de los seiyuu también es notable, en especial el de Kage, Daida y la reina Hilling, verdaderamente extraordinarios.
Osama Ranking es sin duda es uno de los mejores animes que he visto últimamente, quizás lo único que puedo criticarle es que su final es algo extraño, pero tomando en cuenta que solamente es el final de temporada y que la historia continúa, no me parece tan grave que haya terminado de esa forma. Así que si buscan una buena historia, animación y música, que les haga sentir bien y les toque el corazón, definitivamente no se lo pueden perder.
