¡Hola a todos!, esta es una historia que guardo hace muchos meses, tendrá 3 partes, y que quiero empezar con un pedacito de la mitad de esta aventura: La portada soy yo con el Cosplay principal que prepare para el primer día del evento cuando regresé al hotel por la noche, estaba muy cansada pero feliz, y tome algunos videos apreciativos de parte de mi conjunto de Sailor Moon en su versión "Caballero" antes de guardar todo y prepararme para el domingo 🌙 🌃 ✨

Hello everyone!, this is a story that I have been saving for many months, it will have 3 parts, and that I want to start with a little piece of half of this adventure: The cover is me with the main Cosplay I prepared for the first day of the event when I came back to the hotel at night, I was very tired but happy, and I took some appreciative videos of part of my Sailor Moon outfit in its "Knight" version before putting everything away and getting ready for Sunday 🌙 🌃 ✨

El año pasado tuve el honor y la alegría de recibir una invitación de la Caracas Comic Con como "Cosplayer Nacional". Esta organización celebra este 2023 su edición número 20, exactamente el 15 y 16 Julio, y si no te es familiar el nombre o eres extranjero, este evento es actualmente el más grande y longevo de Venezuela, muy querido por la comunidad y el público familiar también por su profesionalidad y la manera en que manejan sus actividades.

Last year I had the honor and joy of receiving an invitation from the Caracas Comic Con as "National Cosplayer". This organization celebrates this 2023 its 20th edition, exactly on July 15 and 16, and if you are not familiar with the name or you are a foreigner, this event is currently the largest and longest running in Venezuela, very loved by the community and the familiar public also for its professionalism and the way they manage their activities.

Este evento tiene un lugar muy importante en mi corazón e historia como Otaku y Cosplayer Venezolana, porque fue el primer evento al que asistí fuera de mi estado, muy lejos, en la capital. Y gracias a esa primera experiencia en 2010, super positiva en todo sentido, me aventure a seguir viajando a otros estados del país para conocer nuevas organizaciones, concursos, y más amigos Cosplayers.

This event has a very important place in my heart and history as an Otaku and Venezuelan Cosplayer, because it was the first event I attended outside my state, far away, in the capital. And thanks to that first experience in 2010, super positive in every way, I ventured to continue traveling to other states of the country to meet new organizations, contests, and more cosplayer friends.

Recibir un mensaje de parte de esta organización es, en todo sentido, lo más maravilloso que te puede ocurrir como Cosplayer en Venezuela, claro, esta es mi opinión personal, pero ser llamado por la Caracas Comic Con creo es "la graduación" o la "prueba de fuego" más grande respecto a la apreciación de tu desempeño, tu papel en la comunidad en general, porque esta organización es sumamente delicada con el tema de los invitados y todos y cada uno de los que hemos sido afortunados de captar su atención, somos rigurosamente inspeccionados (tus proyectos, tus logros, tus habilidades, tu historia).

Receiving a message from this organization is, in every sense, the most wonderful thing that can happen to you as a Cosplayer in Venezuela, of course, this is my personal opinion, but being called by the Caracas Comic Con I think **is the "graduation" or the biggest "litmus test" regarding the appreciation of your performance, your role in the community in general, because this organization is extremely delicate with the subject of the guests and each and every one of us who have been fortunate enough to capture their attention, are rigorously inspected (your projects, your achievements, your skills, your history).

Imagina lo que se siente recibir un llamado por tercera vez. Han pasado meses desde el evento y aún lo siento como un sueño, uno muy bonito, porque desde mi comeback en Diciembre de 2021 no han dejado de suceder cosas hermosas (sin yo buscarlas, super desprevenida), las invitaciones no suceden todos los días y menos cuando no eres un cosplayer de temporada (es decir que te dedicas a hacer cosplay de series de moda o recién estrenadas).

Imagine what it feels like to receive a call for the third time. Months have passed since the event and I still feel it like a dream, a very nice one, because since my comeback in December 2021 beautiful things have not stopped happening (without me looking for them, super unsuspecting), invitations do not happen every day and less when you are not a cosplayer seasonal (ie you are dedicated to cosplay fashion series or newly released).

Ser llamado la primera vez se siente como la oportunidad de tu vida, la cosa más espectacular, que te llamen por segunda vez es como "se cumplió lo imposible". Pero una tercera vez... solo puedes llorar, componerte, respirar y responder (porque si, te cuento que cuando leí el mensaje en mi celular me quede en shock de la impresión y tarde muchos minutos en poder responder).

To be called the first time feels like the opportunity of a lifetime, the most spectacular thing, to be called a second time is like "the impossible was accomplished " But a third time? You can only cry, compose yourself, breathe and answer (because yes, when I read the message on my cell phone I was in shock and it took me many minutes to answer).

Tu dirás que exagero, pero trabajar con esta organización es auténticamente una escuela, porque solo hasta que tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con ellos fue que aprendí con la ayuda de su Directora y todo su staff, de qué se trata realmente ser un Invitado Cosplayer. Con solo su ejemplo y manera de comportarse, te enseñan o refuerzan muchos valores (diligencia, puntualidad, organización), también hay algo muy integral en ellos donde incluso el trato entre los invitados internacionales y nacionales es el mismo, no hacen distinción (no te tratan como menos).

You will say that I exaggerate, but working with this organization is truly a school, because it was only until I had the opportunity to work with them that I learned with the help of their Director and all their staff, what being a Cosplayer Guest is really about. With just their example and way of behaving, they teach you or reinforce many values (diligence, punctuality, organization), there is also something very integral in them where even the treatment between international and national guests is the same, they don't make a distinction (they don't treat you as less).

Algunos detalles lindos que puedo comentar del tras cámara las semanas previas al evento es que dentro del acuerdo o compromiso de parte y parte esta hacer un video promocional anunciando tu asistencia a la convención.

Some nice details that I can comment on from behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to the event is that within the agreement or commitment on both sides is making a promotional video announcing your attendance at the convention.

Para esta ocasión hice tres pruebas con tres Cosplays distintos, y decidí grabar con mi traje de Fai D. Flowright de la serie Tsubasa Reservor of Chronicle (es un traje de hace muchos años y pueden notar que los accesorios son bastante amateurs, los hice cuando tenía como 18 años jajaja el rekame es inevitable porque la base de todo este traje no la hice yo, era de cuando apenas estaba aprendiendo a coser y no tenía las habilidades, so fue regalo de mi mamá).

For this occasion I did three tests with three different Cosplays, and I decided to record with my costume of Fai D. Flowright from the series Tsubasa Reservor of Chronicle (it is a costume from many years ago and you can notice that the accessories are quite amateur, I made them when I was like 18 years old hahaha the rekame is inevitable because the base of all this costume was not made by me, it was when I was just learning to sew and did not have the skills, so it was a gift from my mom).

Es en estos periodos justo después de formalizar las invitaciones como Cosplayer, que reflexiono en que hay muchísimas cosas en que debo mejorar, no me considero lowtech pero hablando de redes sociales convencionales, edición de video y cosas que tienen que ver como la publicidad y el marketing, tengo mucho que aprender, aunque si me dedicara a estudiar eso no lo haría por mí, mi motivación seria poder cumplir lo mejor posible con las obligaciones o compromisos de material promocional. Las organizaciones invierten una parte nada despreciable de su presupuesto en los Cosplayers que invitan y lo más justo es corresponder con fotos y videos AAA para sus redes y programación.

It is in these periods just after formalizing the invitations as Cosplayer, that I reflect that there are many things in which I must improve, I do not consider myself lowtech but talking about conventional social networking, video editing and things that have to do as advertising and marketing, I have much to learn, although if I were to study that would not do it for me, my motivation would be to fulfill as best as possible with the obligations or commitments of promotional material. The organizations invest a not inconsiderable part of their budget in the Cosplayers they invite and the fairest thing to do is to correspond with AAA photos and videos for their networks and programming.

En resumen de esta primera parte, fue asombroso recibir de nuevo el llamado de un evento tan querido y respetado por todos (la primera vez que me llamaron yo estaba en la universidad y no podía viajar por los estudios -¡esto lo sabe muy muy poca gente! nunca lo mencione más allá de mi circulo más privado-, la segunda vez fue en 2014 y pude asistir, la tercera fue en 2016 y también pude aceptar, y ahora, de nuevo en 2022).

In summary of this first part, it was amazing to receive again the call of an event so loved and respected by all (the first time I was called I was in college and could not travel for studies -this is known by very few people! I never mentioned it beyond my most private circle-, the second time was in 2014 and I could attend, the third time was in 2016 and I could also accept, and now, again in 2022).

Originalmente quería que esta nota fuera más sentida y emocional (catarsis positiva) pero ha habido tantos cortes de luz que he perdido el hilo ya muchas veces. Decir que estoy agradecida con la organización es muy poco, porque como sucedió la primera vez, ellos son escuela y hay tantas cosas nuevas que quiero contar y necesito seguir agradeciendo, pero eso será en las 2 siguientes partes. ¡Gracias por estar aquí! 💗

I originally wanted this note to be more heartfelt and emotional (positive catharsis) but there have been so many power outages that I have lost the thread many times already. To say I'm thankful to the organization is too little, because as it happened the first time, they are school and there are so many new things I want to tell and need to keep thanking, but that will be in the next 2 parts.
