Here is a series of very interesting videos replicating THE famous Coral Castle builder, and author of the book Magnetic Current, Edward Leedskalnin's "perpetual magnetic holder" experiment. Wrapping up a metal bar with a specific coil configuration and connecting to a small power supply generates very strong magnetic attraction that remains even after the power is turned off. Time to get myself some coils!
