Today I had some fun with the wood burner that I bought a few weeks ago!
DIY Wooden Burning Creation
The wood burner has been one of my favorite things I've gotten in recent months. It's a pretty fun tool to use! I have lots of different things that I'd like to make, I just need to practice with it more!
One of the things I made here was something for my wife that I really enjoyed. I came upon this quote sometime earlier this year and it really moved me. So much that I really wanted to make it into something for her!
I used a pretty helpful technique that I learned of online. You take a design you want and flip it over and trace it with softer pencil. I guess #6 is a good one to use, though I don't have a clue what the differences are between them. I only know of #2 pencils from being a kid lol. I did this to all of the letters I needed to draw.
I measured them out so that I could give it a rough idea of where I wanted things to go. I tried my best to align them in a decent way.
I then took all of them and made it across the whole board, taping it down so it doesn't move. The last thing I wanted to have it is screw up because I didn't take the time to do it right lol
Nicely taped up! I lined them up across the top of the board with the top row of letters. The ones down below, I made a line across the exact middle of the board so that I could use it to line it up.
The final product! I think it came out pretty well. There are some parts that were a bit darker than I wanted but that's the nice part about using wood like this. You can incorporate the different parts of the wood in the piece.
I was glad to finally make my wife something homemade like this! I had made some things in the past but that was mostly at my parents house, when I had access to lots of tools and room lol. I was looking for making something specifically for her but didn't find anything I really liked until I found this little saying here.
What do you think? I like it but does it look cool? I'll find out in a few days (typing this days before posting of course) if she actually likes it hahaha.
