Today I'm here with a lot of fun the little man and I had building another snowy adventure! A snow fort!
Snow Fort Fun
When you live in a place that gets snow and you have young children, you have to come up with ways to keep the little balls of energy entertained and not glued to a screen. We got a good batch of snow recently and that allowed us to get out there and have some fun adventures! We built a berm so that he couldn't kill himself sledding but we also built this really fun snow fort!
Our son has been into building things for a while but lately he's really gotten into building some forts. It's been cool to watch! Sometimes a little difficult because it takes over the entire living room, which we don't have a big enough one as it is lol, so it ends up getting cumbersome to keep it intact. I opted this time to get him outside and playing in the snow while building a fort!
We are incredibly fortunate to have access to a family members property that has a good yard and ample space for us to do things that we want and the snow fort was definitely one of them!
I tried to not get too technical with the build only because it wasn't going to last long and we also didn't have a considerable amount of time to spend doing it. In the process of it, we were having fun building the different parts as we were just going along. The little man was enjoying helping me shape the walls, make sure the height was enough and also keeping the build on track. He got me more snow than I could work with for a while!
With any successful adventure with the kids, it's always good to spend enough time doing it that the little ones pass out from being tired! He wasn't actually sleeping here but I had worked him for a while so he was taking a little break from it all! It was good to see him do it though, the walls could support his weight while he was leaning against it lol I wasn't sure if the snow was too fluffy to allow us to do that!
It was all in all a really fun and interesting build. I've lived and played with snow my whole life but this was the first time I think I actually built a snow fort. It wasn't complicated but it was 4 walls! I know we will go back this weekend to get in there to play with some LEGO or something, while the snow is still there!
