Hello creative friends of Hive, I hope you are well. Welcome once again to my blog. It's been a while since I've posted DIY projects but that doesn't mean I haven't been doing them, it's just lack of time to sit down and write up the tutorials in the best possible way so I can present you a good step by step.
Crafts are something that relax me a lot, they lead me to the immersion of a quite comforting creative process. When it comes to DIY projects, I like to make practical and useful items much more than decorative objects. For the elaboration of these useful items I like to use recycled material, things that can be given a useful life before considering throwing them away.
That's why I'm always excited to participate in the Creative Recycling contest organized every month by friend
, who invites us to use our creativity to make the most of recycling materials and create a nice gift for the upcoming Father's Day.
I chose to make a practical desk organizer, where all the office supplies can be stored in an orderly fashion.
For this project I used a number of cardboard cylinders, boxboard and other things I had been collecting for a while.
- Cilindros de Cartón de diferentes tamaños
- 1 lata de atún
- Cartón de caja
- Cartulina de color
- Tela para forrar
- Silicón Líquido
- Tijeras
- Cardboard Cylinders of different sizes
- 1 can of tuna
- Cardboard box
- Colored cardboard
- Cloth for lining
- Liquid Silicone
- Scissors
The whole process of this project basically consisted of lining each of the cylinders and the cardboard base with the fabric and cardboard. Using liquid silicone to fix the fabric and cardboard very well.
#1
Cut the cardboard to the same size as our cardboard base and glue it to the base with the liquid silicone.
#2
To line the tuna can, I marked the circumferences on the fabric and cardboard, then cut out and glued all the pieces to the can.
#3
The next step was to cut out the fabric and line each of the cardboard cylinders and other elements that I eventually decided to include in the project.
#4
To decorate, I cut very thin strips of the blue cardboard I used to line the circular base and glued them to the outside of each of the cylinders.
#5
Another step was to place a thin border of fabric around the circular base where all the pieces would later be attached.
#6
Finally, arrange all the lined pieces and fix them with hot silicone to the circular cardboard base. Try to make it as harmonious as possible.
Espero les agrade esta idea y la puedan poner en práctica con su toque personal. Este será mi obsequio para mi esposo el próximo día del padre. Me agradó participar en este concurso tan motivador. Gracias por leer, saludos y bendiciones.
This way the project is finished and we have a very nice desk organizer to keep everything in its place. Even though it is a big project it only took me about four hours to make it. Using fabric as a lining is very flattering and gives it a much nicer finish than with other types of material.
I hope you like this idea and can put it into practice with your personal touch. This will be my gift for my husband next Father's Day. I was pleased to participate in this very motivating contest. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
