Hola recicladores y amigos. Hoy les quiero compartir una manera de reciclar cartón, que no sirva de adorno, sino que sea algo práctico y útil de usar.

Es una libreta de anotaciones que hice para mi hijo, porque a veces, en el colegio le mandan actividades o ejercicios de matemáticas y para no estar borrando a cada rato, lo hace primero en una hoja de papel aparte (un borrador) y luego, lo copia en su cuaderno. Entonces, es una locura el montón de hojas sueltas o engrapadas al fondo del último cajón del escritorio.

Entonces pensé en comprarle un cuaderno, pero teniendo cartón y hojas en casa, ¿Qué mejor manera de reciclar el cartón que hacerle una libreta para que haga sus anotaciones? De manera que me puse a ver tutoriales en YouTube, porque confieso que no sabía cómo hacerlo. Tenía la intención y las ganas de hacerlo, pero no sabía cómo.

Hello recyclers and friends. Today I want to share with you a way to recycle cardboard, not as an ornament, but as something practical and useful to use.

It is a notebook that I made for my son, because sometimes, at school they send him activities or math exercises and in order not to be erasing all the time, he does it first on a separate sheet of paper (an eraser) and then, he copies it in his notebook. So, it's crazy the pile of loose or stapled sheets of paper at the bottom of the bottom desk drawer.

So I thought about buying him a notebook, but having cardboard and sheets at home, what better way to recycle the cardboard than to make him a notebook so he can make notes? So I started watching tutorials on YouTube, because I confess I didn't know how to do it. I had the intention and the desire to do it, but I didn't know how.

White sheets

Lo primero que hice fue cortar el cartón en dos partes iguales (esas serán nuestra portada y contraportada). Luego, con un lápiz, le dibujaremos algunas formas, líneas o lo que queramos. Si hubiese sido para mí, probablemente le habría dibujado flores; pero como es para mi hijo, le hice esas líneas, que él quería. Luego, comencé a pintarlas.

The first thing I did was to cut the cardboard into two equal parts (those will be our front and back covers). Then, with a pencil, we will draw some shapes, lines or whatever we want. If it had been for me, I probably would have drawn flowers; but since it is for my son, I drew those lines, which he wanted.

Mientras esperaba a que se secara la pintura, comencé a doblar las hojas blancas a la mitad en forma horizontal. La cantidad de hojas, dependerá de tu necesidad o deseo particular.

Posteriormente, cogí una hoja y la doblé en 4 partes, en forma vertical. Luego le coloqué pegamento. Esta sería para poder mantener pegadas las hojas que van dentro de la libreta. Observa las siguientes imágenes para que veas lo que estoy diciendo.

While waiting for the paint to dry, I began to fold the white sheets in half horizontally. The number of sheets will depend on your particular need or desire.

Afterwards, I took a sheet and folded it in 4 parts, vertically. Then I put glue on it. This would be to keep the sheets that go inside the notebook glued together. Look at the following images to see what I am saying.

Luego corté dos pedazos de cartulina de igual tamaño que la portada y contraportada de la libreta. Esto es para cubrir la parte de adentro de ambas carátulas. les coloqué pegamento a las carátulas y pegué la cartulina. Así:

I then cut two pieces of cardstock the same size as the front and back covers of the notebook. This is to cover the inside of both covers. I glued the covers together and glued the cardstock. Like this:

Ahora lo que sigue, es pegar ambas carátulas a la primera y última hoja de papel, respectivamente. Luego, presionamos para que pegue bien y esperamos que se seque.

Now the next step is to glue both cover sheets to the first and last sheet of paper, respectively. Then, we press to make sure it sticks well and wait for it to dry.

Finalmente, cortaremos una cartulina doble faz del mismo alto de la libreta, como verás en la siguiente imagen. Esto es para crear el lomo de la libreta. Mira:

Finally, we will cut a double-sided cardboard of the same height as the notebook, as you will see in the following image. This is to create the spine of the notebook. Look at this:

Listo, ya tenemos nuestra libreta artesanal. Puedes ponerle detalles, los que desees, pintarle un borde al lomo del libro y ponerle tu nombre o si es un regalo, escribir el nombre de esa persona.

That's it, we now have our handmade notebook. You can add any details you want, paint a border on the spine of the book and put your name on it or if it is a gift, write the name of that person.

Así quedó. Este es el resultado final. Y ya mi hijo va a comenzar a usarla, mientras estudia las divisiones con decimales.
