Every year I make the same mistake
I think Holiday season is so far away still, and everything I need to do (or more want to do) regarding preparations for these months is postponed. Then suddenly September is over and I realize it's already October and Halloween is almost there. Last year this meant that I didn't make any Halloween crafts, but started crafting for Christmas right away. This year, I've other plans.
Halloween first
Instead of jumping right into the Christmas spirit, I'm first focusing on some cool Halloween crafts (and maybe bake some things as well if I feel like it). Yesterday I was browsing online for inspiration to make some paintings using my newly received easel but I didn't find anything that got me exciting (yet).
That's when I decided that sometimes things just don't instantly "click" and I need some time to get inspired and get started. Therefore, I just started to hunt for inspiration to craft things for Halloween, this is a much easier task as this is often done together with my daughter, who gets excited about anything I show her if it's a drawing/painting/craft work.
So today we kicked off Holiday season!
I decided we should start simple, to get in the right flow and decorate a few rocks to become spooky ghosts. I painted one as an example, and then I drew some examples on a paper for my daughter to have inspiration when painting her little ghosts.
Super simple craft, but it gets us in the right holiday flow to start our crafting. It's the warm-up so the speak! Here's how she painted her own ghost rocks:
And of course, the end result:
Don't they look scary?!
The countdown until Halloween
Like I said, this was just the warm-up for the Holiday crafting and baking season! What can you expect to see on my account this year?? Expect a lot of creativity, sometimes it will come in the form of a drawing or painting, but other times you will see crafts of all kinds. Not only cool for kids or to do with kids, but sometimes also cool decoration that you can use if you have a Halloween party planned at home.
Expect the first crafting tutorials to arrive this week..
Thanks for stopping by, and see you soon!
