Encontré este llamativo insecto de color negro brillante. Su cara refleja dureza, parece un rostro mal encarado sin ánimos de hacer amistad con nadie. Su aparato bucal es masticador, en el lomo tiene una marca beis y sus antenas son bastante vistosas, se les suelen llamar insectos de antenas largas.

Por las características descritas en el párrafo anterior se puede decir que estamos en presencia de un escarabajo. Estos insectos son la familia más numerosa cuando de insectos se trata. Caminaba tranquilamente cuando noté la agilidad de este insecto cuando caminaba frente a mí. Salió de entre las plantas, me ubicaba en una zona boscosa, con mucha vegetación, ambiente frío y con neblina.

Es la primera vez que veo esta especie. Busqué en internet información sobre él, hallé que puede tratarse de un escarabajo que se alimenta de polen de las flores y frutos maduros como la guanábana. Es posible que esta zona sea indicada para el tipo de árboles frutales. La guanábana por ejemplo, es una fruta exótica, prospera satisfactoriamente en algunas regiones de Venezuela, sobre todo donde la humedad está presente, el clima frío no le favorece. Es posible entonces que haya salido de algún árbol de estos. El insecto estaba solo, es ágil, camina rápido, es capaz de perderse fácilmente de la vista de cualquiera.

Entre la escasa información sobre este insecto se menciona que pertenece a la familia Cerambycidae conocido como cuernos largos, se caracterizan por tener cuernos extremamente largos, se dice que la hembra tiene cuernos más cortos que los machos, ¿será que estuve en presencia de una hembra?
