Dysdercus cingulatus is a kind of true bug that has a very nice color and pattern on its body. They are from the family Pyrrhocoridae which is usually called cotton stainer or red-cotton big or bapak pucung here in Indonesia.
They are considered a pest in the cotton crop, as they tend to leave a yellow stain on the cotton ball as they feed on the seed from the pods or other parts of the plants.
They have a very long antenna with black and white stripes on its abodemen. They also have a yellow color on its body especially on their wings.
The most noticeable is the three dots pattern on the upper part of their body on the wing's side before it ends with the black color on the tip of the wings.
I found them mating on the small Urena lobata plant. It is kind of shrubs that usually considered a weed. But it has a very nice seeds pod, they have a stiff hair around the seed pos. We usually used them as a toys when I was a kid, as they can stick in the cloth.
So we plucked them and try to stick it to our friend shirt back then.
