This portrait is the first oil work that I include in the collection of "portraits of a stranger", I wanted to represent an older man with typical clothes from the old days, with a lost look, although reflecting a lot of security and impetus.

I made the original sketch with graphite pencil 4h, marking the limits of the face, the cap and the clothes, and then I marked these lines again with a pen, also drawing the details of the face.

Este retrato es el primer trabajo al óleo que incluyo a la colección de "retratos de un desconocido", quise representar a un hombre mayor con ropa típica de tiempos de antaño, con una mirada perdida, aunque reflejando bastante seguridad e ímpetu.

Hice el boceto original con lápiz grafito 4h, marcando los límites del rostro, la gorra y la ropa, y luego marqué estas líneas nuevamente con bolígrafo, dibujando también los detalles del rostro.

I used Siena, ocher, brunt umber and white for the face, making a pre-mix with these colors, and I started giving color to the brightest areas of the face, with firm lines, in the purest impressionist style, then continue with the shadows, trying to mark the wrinkles under the eyes with strong contrasts, to give it character.

Use Siena, ocre, tierra tostada y blanco para el rostro, haciendo una pre-mezcla con estos colores, y empecé dando color a las zonas más brillantes del rostro, con trazos firmes, al más puro estilo impresionista, proseguir entonces con las sombras, procurando marcar con fuertes contrastes las arrugas debajo de los ojos, para darle carácter.

And finally I painted the clothes with a gray hue mixed with a little blue, the strokes are quick and give the shape of the old man's jacket and shirt. Then I painted the cap using the same color palette as the rest of the clothes and finally I painted the background using white with some spots of gray.

Y por último pinté la ropa con una tonalidad gris mezclada con un poco de azul, los trazos son rápidos y dan la forma de la chaqueta y la camisa del anciano. Luego pinté la gorra usando la misma paleta de colores del resto de la ropa y finalmente pinté el fondo usando blanco con algunas manchas de gris.
