It's Time to S-S-S-S-SP-SP-SP-SPEND❗️
You may or may not have seen me posting recently about Yu-Gi-Oh. Well it seems as though I was unable to control the urge to spend and now own some Yu-Gi-Oh cards in real life once again. I hadn't owned any of these cards for well over 15 years now, but since I have played some Yu-Gi-Oh video games I have been in the mood to play the TCG.
I was out shopping for some Christmas gifts the other night after dinner and stumbled upon Yu-Gi-Oh cards in an unlikely place. I didn't expect Books-A-Million to have a display up front to tempt me. I was unguarded and succumbed to the temptation. I should have been prepared, now that I think about it there used to be competitive TCG tournaments at this same book store when I was young. I always wanted to go but never got to.
I was already walking around the store with my arms full of things I planned to buy. I thought I may as well buy a few decks and packs so that I can stop thinking about when I will play the Yu-Gi-Oh card game again. Buy I did. I gathered three different decks and four packs of cards. Check what I got below.
I was hyped to finally have some Yu-Gi-Oh in real life. I wasn't exactly sure what exactly I had just selected, but I knew it would be enough to allow me to play the game at home. and I both like card games and magic/monsters. So Yu-Gi-Oh seems like a good fit for us, as long as it doesn't end up being too confusing. She has never played the game and my memory of the rules is foggy. Plus there are all sorts of new gameplay elements that have been added since the last time I played. Luckily the video game explained this stuff to me, but she will never play the video games. So it is up to me to teach her and me both how to play. Fingers crossed it works. If not, at least I have a collection started back up again.
If one is to collect Yu-Gi-Oh, then one must had a dope golden tin to keep the cards in. Am I right? Well lucky for me I had another store to stop by. I headed over to Target to buy a few more gifts for others. Their card section was stocked totally full, which is extremely rare these days. They didn't have a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh options, but what they did have was at least different from what Books-A-Million had available.
I ended up leaving with this 2021 Tin of Ancient Battles. It looks totally badass and will easily hold all of my Yu-Gi-Oh stuff. I'm glad that I saw this thing and was able to purchase it.

Now I won't be showing off all of the cards in this post. There are so many and that would take an eternity. I will be doing some Yu-Gi-Oh card posts like my Pokémon card posts here soon. So I will definitely be showcasing all of the cool cards that I have now. I'm so hyped to go through all of them and get back into playing.
I'm seriously considering going to one of the Wednesday night Yu-Gi-Oh meet-ups at this local card shop called The Board Room. I know that will probably be the best way for me to get back into the flow of playing. Plus maybe I'll meet some cool people there.
Stay tuned for more. Do you or have you ever played Yu-Gi-Oh? Let me know, I'm curious if I am the only dude on Hive diving back in as an adult.
