Good morning everyone,
I want to share with us my recent art piece. I titled this "Aje-Olokun. Aje is the daugther of Olokun(God/Goddess of sea). Aje-Olokun is the yoruba goddess of wealth and prosperity herself. She blesses in any kind of currency and turn the house of whoever she enters into a wealthy one. She is associated with cowries which is found in her eyes and the symbol of wealth and of course some cryptocurrencies which is found on her forehead. The drawing is an imagination of how I perceived her to be.
I drew on Autodesk sketchbook on my Samsung galaxy A32 phone using an homemade stylus pen. I used the scribble pattern mostly and the pencil I used generally is the primary pencil and sometimes technical pen. I love to draw on black background because I love its look. Recently I decided to be using Ankara (African print) for my background to give it this Ancient-African effect.
PROCESS
- The first thing I did was to make a rough sketch of the face, after that I made it more smooth and defined. I drew the eyes cowries and the wealth symbol on her forehead with some modern day cryptocurrencies symbols (hive, bitcoin, BNB and Etherium).
- Next, I made a rough drawing of the hair. Then I started adding layers and beads to beautify it. Since Aje-Olokun is the goddess of wealth, I made sure she had some really expensive and huge beads on her neck.
- Finally I completed the drawing and I put the Ankara on the background of the drawing.
