Well, it's been a bit since I've posted anything regarding comic books. As the year kept going and more books took up the house, I had to take a step back a bit and reevaluate. Yet again. It's easy to want to spend the money on books to read, books to invest in, and/or both. It's a tough game, and with plenty of influencers out there making recommendations that typically go nowhere, the hobby can be frustrating. So I've changed my pattern of purchases, and think in these terms :
- Is it a good Hattie collection add?
- It is scarce?
- Will there be demand for the book in the future?
Seems easy enough, right? It's not (at least not for me!). So here were a few adds to the collection that came through the mail to me last week:
Usagi Yojimbo 20 was an easy grab for me. I still think this series will be streaming gold; this issue features the first appearance of Yukichi Yamamoto. Yukichi is Yojimbo's "sidekick", as it were. Maybe not as important as Robin, but I thought it was worth the pick up.
The next one is from the current of Moon Knight. This one is a 1:50 that I was able to order ahead of time on TFAW. This one should hold value as Moon Knight, the character, should only become more popular over time.
The last add this week is a IGC store exclusive.
Limited to a 600 print run, this Moon Knight 4 is Dell'Otto virgin variant. I love Dell'Otto's work and this one was beautiful. I hope the scarcity keeps the value high on this issue moving forward. Time will tell, as always.
