My local shop, for the most part, just carries the big publishers. DC, Image, Marvel, and some Dark Horse, and lots from each. I'm terrible about keeping up with new books in the pipeline, so I honestly don't even think to start a pull list with independents at my shop. I know, bad customer; so when I do see things I want to read, I go through smaller outfits on eBay. Comic book shops that I try to support that appear to be regional in nature. I try my best to help out, especially in COVID days.
With that said, I went with the two books above from a store in Garden City, Michigan.
The first book I ordered was Witchblood 1.
It's a new Vault Comics' book and after having watched The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, I figured it might be a fun read. The plot is as such:
The other book is part two of a series I really enjoyed thus far.
The setup is simple; an atomic weapon is dropped over 1957 Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Yet a family somehow has survived the blast, and appears to have flipped over into a parallel reality. Again, this one is a PKD based/influenced series, so I expect lots of Gnosis in the coming pages. At least I hope so.
That's it for this week; not so much speculative adds, but more "get the brain thinking" adds for some light reading. Hopefully I'll get a review out soon on Witchblood; if you have already read it, let me know below what you think. Thanks as always for checking this spot out.
