Hello everyone. Greetings to all. I hope you all are doing well.
Previously I have provided you with one of my old pieces of pastel art, today I am presenting something similar; "The decorated evening". As I have mentioned earlier about the illustration that I am working on, it will take more time for me to complete it. It might take more than a week. In the meantime, I am willing to display a few of my old works, of which "the decorated evening" is one of them.
It is an inspiration from our dear google images. Thanks to the anonymous person, who displayed their photograph publicly for people like me to collect ideas from them. My intention was to take a simple photograph to experiment with my pastel colors.
So, I grabbed my sketchbook and started the experiment. Sorry, I forgot to mention, the experiment was based on "if I will be able to blend them properly while displaying the reflection of water". Now you stand the judge, if I could make the colors flush out or could not.
It was a challenge to overwrite the colors. If you have keenly observed my previous art, you would have recognized that the blending was not good enough, especially in the sky. Here I tried to make the balance.
Furthermore, I tried using shades of the same color to make the blending smooth, or you can say, I tried to hide the gaps. This was kind of the reason why this artwork looks like a decorative piece when you glance at the top section.
So, after the decorated piece, the reflection was another challenge. At that time, I was learning how to form reflections. It is like forming shadows, but it is more smudged and it was difficult to show that. So, I tried to show that the water is still.
There is another part where I thought I made a mistake but you can say I didn't but did. The reflection of the objects was of the same color, except the bushes and the tower. While we can see the reflection of the sunlight on the river, there is no reflection of it on the tower nor on the bushes.
Nevertheless, you can let your imagination take you wherever you like.
In my next post, which type of artwork would you like to see from me if the options were: pastel art, fabric painting, or digital illustration?
So, I hope you all liked it, please share your thoughts. Would love to listen from you all. Thank you.
