Dirt Trap Blues

Who the f^ck knows where "mumble rap" came from... nonetheless, it turned into a genre sensation.

So I guess I don't have to feel so bad about mumbling my way through a rough draft of a song idea and being too lazy to actually write and rerecord lyrics. Ha!

This was a jam that came together back in February. I've rarely done much with lyrics, but threw these scraps together simply to get a conceptual idea for where to take the project. And, it ended up sounding kinda good. So, I left it.

Maybe someday I'll actually pick up on this project again and put it into an official release, redoing the lyrics then. Though for now, it is what it is.

And hey, "scat" has always been something popular in jazz, so there's just as much merit to this as mumble rap. Hell, back in the ol' days when all those O.G. blues musicians fuelled themselves on whiskey, surely some of them were ahead of their time and pioneered "mumble blues" - even if it never actually took off.

So anyways... enough with the words.
