Jeep hot Road made of recyclable cardboard.
Hello friend of this great community of artisans, I had some time absent for work reasons, and again I am here to activate myself in the platform and community, and today I want to show you the development of a car made of recyclable cardboard is a Jeep hot Road model I have made several models and this time I saved a little paint because the car I got just came already painted factory, a very nice blue color, so I day ala task of making this car, and in this publication I will show you the step by step of its development I hope you like this craft.
Materials to be used
- Cardboard (quantity needed)
- Cold paint
- Silicone stick
- Aluminum can
- Scalpel
- Brush
Materiales a utilizar
- Cartón (cantidad necesaria)
- Pintura al frío
- Silicón en barra
- Una lata de aluminio
- Bisturí
- Pincel
For this first step we will make the first parts of our Jeep. With a mold that I already had previously I trace them on the cardboard and cut with the scalpel these would be the sides, rear, base of the Jeep, the front. These will be the first parts so that from there we start with the assembly of the Jeep.
The next thing we will do is to take the base and the side parts of the Jeep and glue them together. For the back part we will make a small double to the cardboard, this to give it some aesthetics in the back and have more firmness.
This model has a rear space where originally some seats would go but in this occasion it will be free in which later on it will have some supports similar to a kind of anti-roll bar.
With these parts joined together we proceed to finish what we would say the rear and cabin of the Jeep, we place a piece of cardboard which will divide the car and from here on we will manufacture the engine which I had the initiative this time to make it with parts of aluminum can to give it a more metallic look.
As I mentioned before, I made the engine with part of an aluminum can, I drew and made the necessary cuts to assemble it. While I was making the engine I was also drawing lines to remove the windshield and thus give shape to the car. What I like most about working with this cardboard is that it comes already painted and as I mentioned at the beginning with a very nice blue color, and also the cardboard had parts entirely blue.
Already with the engine done, we reserve and make what will be the accents and console, these if I had to paint them to have a nice color combination for the car, in this case I painted them brown and black console, also make a small board with steering wheel, this is lined with a foil colored paper.
Now we just need to start assembling our front part, this includes the engine, the Jeep's grill and the ones that will act as the front axle. The wheels that the Jeep will have will be one that I had used in a previous project and I decided to reuse the wheels since they were still in good condition.
**
In the previous image we can see how the craft is getting, in this part we will make the base where the wheels will go, for this I took two wooden pallets that come in the ice cream, and with a soldering iron I made some holes where the bar that will hold the wheels will go through.
After making the front part of the Jeep we just need to give some aesthetic touches and finish painting the parts that have paint and make it a little neater. In the following images I show you the final result of today's craft, I hope you like it.
