Good morning, beautiful community! I wish you an excellent day. I hope you are all doing well on this weekday. Today is a great opportunity to show you how I transformed a skirt into a simple women's vest. This vest is for a lovely client who likes to dress elegantly. She wanted this simple vest that would reflect her style.
To be honest, I really love transformations, especially when it comes to dressing up and making my clients look beautiful 😄🤭. If you'd like to see how I transformed this skirt, I invite you to spend a few minutes of your time and appreciate the result. You'll love it as much as I do.

Pasos a seguir: | Steps to follow:
Paso 01
Step 01
The first step we'll take is to take our skirt and sew it all together. The idea is to leave all the skirt pieces loose. Now we'll iron it a little to remove any wrinkles left after unpicking it. Next, we'll take a measurement as a reference. In this case, I'll use another vest my client brought me as a reference so I could cut the new vest. I folded the vest in half and placed it on top of the folded fabric. I'll cut one piece for the back bodice with added seam allowance and a 2 cm wide dart. I cut two separate pieces for the front bodice, also with a 2 cm wide dart. Then I proceeded to cut a neckline piece for the back bodice. This piece is like a semi-open bell shape or half a disc. We'll mark the darts for the front bodice 12 cm long and the darts for the back bodice 15 cm long.
Paso 02
Step 02
As a second step we are going to sew the pieces of the edges of the vest such as armhole and neck edge in this case I did it with overlock then I sewed the darts.
Paso 03
Step 03
Next, we sew the buttonhole pieces and buttons with a 3 cm wide hem towards the inside. Then we sew the shoulders, the front and back pieces, and we sew the half-disc piece to the back so that we have the reinforcement.
Paso 04
Step 04
Next, we sew the 1.5 cm hem of the armhole to the inside, then we also sew with a straight stitch over the neck reinforcement, finally we sew the buttonholes and buttons of the vest.
Resultado: | Result:
These are the final results of our lady's vest. The results look incredible. To give it a better finish, I ironed it on a medium setting to give it the final touch.
I hope you really liked how this transformation turned out, and please comment if you liked it a lot. I wish you a beautiful day and see you next time and in another tutorial 🥰.
