I'm finishing up this afternoon after doing many things, but mainly I was making, or rather finishing, this pretty women's top with ruching at the chest to wear with any type of garment, like pants and fitted skirts. Lately, I've been really liking this style with ruching at the front of garments because I feel it enhances our figure, so I'll be making this top this way. At first, it was very difficult for me to make this design, but once I learned how easy it was, nothing could stop me from doing it on my clothes. I'll make this top for myself from a piece of fabric that my mom gave me.

I started by cutting the corresponding pieces. We stretched the fabric on a flat surface. I cut two pieces for the front with an opening because we must remember to leave space for the seam where our gathering cords will go. I also cut a double piece for the back and the two sleeves. Don't forget to cut the straps; in this case, I cut two strips 60 cm long x 3 cm wide. These are the pieces we will use to make the peasant-style blouse top.

We start by sewing the gathering. For this, we will sew the edge of the blouse pieces with an overlock or zigzag stitch, as you prefer. Then, we will fold the pieces inside the hem without sewing the sides completely. Next, we will join the front pieces vertically with a straight stitch.

Once we sew, we move on to sewing the sides with a straight stitch and overlock. Then we sew the straps so we can insert them with the tape tool through the hole we made. With the straps that we have inserted through the hole we left for them, we are going to sew them to the tip of our top later.

Finally, this is how our straps look now that they're in place and sewn. Now we'll sew the sleeves to each end of the top at the armhole and sew the edge of the top part of our top with a welted seam. This seam can be done with a zigzag or overlock stitch. After sewing the edge, we'll sew the elastic to our sleeve. I've also added welted seams to the sleeves to match the edge of the top. We also sew the elastic to the top of the neck, making sure it's snug to prevent it from bunching up too much. With this, we finish our top blouse. Now let's see the results.
