Happy and beautiful afternoon my dear creative friends, it is a pleasure to be here with you sharing what I love to do most, my sewing work and many other things that I know you like a lot, make yourself comfortable and I thank you in advance for taking a few minutes of your time to read my blog, I always share sewing ideas and other things so that you can learn in a simpler way to make these garments, so thank you once again for being here and welcome to a new tutorial.
Yesterday,
a client asked me to make her a simple skirt to attend Sunday meetings. The fabric she ordered for this skirt is a very, very soft fabric, especially for these summer seasons, although it is still cold as the heat is starting to arrive. So she mentioned to me that she wanted it with elastic on top so that it would be much easier to put on. She brought me a measurement as a reference of a skirt that would fit her well so I could proceed with the cutting.
I took her length measurements because she wanted this skirt to be a little longer. The measurements were 70 cm and 100 cm wide with its respective elastic at the top, but before telling you the whole process, let's go over the materials and get straight to the process.

- 1 meter of soft fabric

Pasos a seguir://Steps to follow:
Paso 01
Step 01
We are going to be cutting, as I mentioned before, a rectangle measuring 70 cm long x 100 cm wide and we cut the same rectangle into two pieces that make up the front and back skirt pieces.
Paso 02
Step 02
We will sew my skirt and we will close it on the sides with a straight and zig zag stitch, we will be making a small hem at the top where we will place the elastic, a very thin bias, then we will be joining our elastic in the middle to be able to place it
Paso 03
Step 03
We will join the elastic with a zig zag stitch all around the skirt and between the hem that we made previously and then fold and sew with a straight stitch to form the elastic waistband.
Paso 04
Step 04
The work on this skirt seemed so simple to me that it was not necessary to sew anything else. I just finished by going over my elastic at the top with another seam, leaving 1 cm of space above the waistband and we finished with a super small 1 cm hem at the bottom because that is what our client wanted and that is how we made it.
Resultado:// Result:
This is how my client's finished skirt looks like and I hope you liked it a lot and the photos of the final result. I say goodbye wishing you a happy afternoon my loves and until the next occasion, I love you all.
