In Venezuela, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, and on this date, it's customary to give gifts to mothers. Although every day is special to honor mothers, this day was chosen to pay a well-deserved tribute to mothers in several countries of the Americas for the great work they do inside and outside the home. For the celebration at church, I made some candies, each containing a beautiful and colorful cloth. This cloth is useful for cleaning your face, wrapping water bottles, or cleaning your hands. It's a simple and very pretty project, and I invite you to join me in the process of making them.
Hola amigos creativos y artesanos de la comunidad @Hivediy, es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan un excelente y bendecido fin de semana, aprovecho la ocasión para felicitar a las Madres de la comunidad y la colmena, en Venezuela se celebra el Día de la Madres, el segundo domingo de mayo y en esta fecha se acostumbra a dar presentes y obsequios a las mamás, aunque todos los días son especiales para homenajear a mamá se seleccionó este día para rendirle un merecido tributo a las madres en varios países de América por la gran labor que realizan dentro y fuera del hogar; para la celebración en la iglesia, elaboré unos caramelos, los cuales tienen dentro un hermoso y colorido paño, este es útil para limpiar la cara, envolver los envases de agua o limpiar las manos, es un proyecto sencillo de hacer y muy bonito, les invito me acompañan en el proceso de elaboración.

Elaboration
The first step in making these cloths was to measure and divide the fabric into five 30-centimeter rectangles using a measuring tape. I marked the lines on the rectangles with chalk, then cut and sewed a hem using a straight stitch.
The initial idea was to hem the fabric by folding it twice, but it's too thick and won't go through the machine, so I made a single fold and sewed as close to the edge as possible. The advantage of this type of fabric is that it doesn't fray, and one stitch was enough.

El primer paso para elaborar estos paños fue medir y dividir la tela en cinco rectángulos cada uno de 30 centímetros, con ayuda de la cinta métrica y marqué las líneas en los rectángulos con la tiza, luego corté y cosí un dobladillo utilizando puntada recta.
La idea inicial era hacer el dobladillo doblando la tela dos veces pero es muy gruesa y no pasa por la máquina, así que hice un solo doblez y cosí lo más cercano al borde de la tela, la ventaja de este tipo de telas es que no se deshilacha y con una costura fue suficiente.
To make the process easier, I first sewed the side edges and then the top and bottom edges. I had a little trouble at the corners because of the thickness of both hems, but I was able to solve it with a hand stitch.
Para facilitar el proceso, primero cosí los bordes laterales y luego los bordes superior e inferior. Tuve algunas dificultades en las esquinas debido al grosor de ambos dobladillos, pero pude solucionarlo con una puntada a mano.
Once the hems were finished, I started folding from one corner, forming a sort of tube. I tied it in the center with the cord, making two knots to secure it and prevent it from unraveling when assembling the candy.
Terminado de coser los dobladillos, inicié doblando desde una esquina formando una especie de tubo, con el cordón lo amaré en el centro haciendo dos nudos, para que que quede firme y no se desbarate al armar el caramelo.
The last step was to make a roll, starting at one end and going to the other, thus forming the candy. Then, with a rectangle of cellophane paper in yellow, red, or your preferred color, I wrapped the candy, placed the towel in the center, and made knots on both sides, folding the paper to make bows. With the cord, I tied the ends, and this simple and useful project is finished.
El último paso fue hacer un enrollado, iniciando en una de las puntas hasta el otro extremo y así se forma el caramelo, luego con un rectángulo de papel celofán de color amarillo rojo o el de tu preferencia, forré el caramelo, coloqué la toalla en el centro, e hice los nudos a ambos lados, doblando el papel para hacer los moños, con el cordón amarré los extremos y está terminado este sencillo y útil proyecto.
This project, as I mentioned before, is easy to make, very useful, and requires few materials. It took me approximately two hours to sew the cloths; there were 20 in total. I liked the fabric because of its colorful stripes in the shape of triangles and zigzags. The towel is super absorbent, ideal for taking to the gym. I hope this tutorial is useful for you to make gifts with fabric. Besides the candies, you can also make flowers, bags, and other things with the cloths.
Este proyecto como lo mencioné anteriormente, es sencillo de hacer además muy útil y requiere pocos materiales, el tiempo de elaboración me tomó aproximadamente 2 horas para coser los paños, en total eran 20, la tela me gustó por sus coloridas franjas en forma de triángulos y zigzag, la toalla es súper absorbente ideal para llevar al gimnasio, espero este tutorial les sea de utilidad para hacer obsequios con tela, además de los caramelos se peden hacer flores, bolsas entre otros, con los paños.
