Looking through my fabric bag, I found a gabardine fabric that was the perfect size to make the apron. I also wanted to add decorative details, and after thinking about what I could embellish it with, I looked in my scrap bag and found some small fabric leftover from a project I did a while ago featuring the famous children's cartoon character Garfield. I saw that the colors matched, and all that was missing were the strips. I kept looking and found a scrap of ribbed fabric, which was great for the strips. With the pattern, I cut out the pieces and then started sewing. The apron, in addition to being used in the kitchen when preparing food, is also used for manual labor, construction, and in art class to avoid staining clothes with paint or products used when painting. Buscando en la bolsa de telas encontré una de gabardina que tenía el tamaño ideal para hacer el delantal, también quería agregarle detalles decorativos y luego de pensar con que podía adornarlo, busqué en la bolsa de retazos y encontré pequeños sobrantes de tela de un proyecto que hice hace bastante tiempo con el famoso personaje de caricaturas infantiles Garfield, vi que los colores combinaban, ya solo faltaban las tiras, seguí buscando y conseguí un retazo de tela rib, muy buena para las tiras, con el patrón saqué las piezas y luego a coser; el delantal además de usarse en la cocina al momento de preparar los alimentos, también se utiliza para hacer labores manuales, construcción y en la clase de arte para evitar manchar la ropa con pintura o productos que se usen al momento de pintar, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

Once the materials are organized, the first step in making the apron is to cut the pieces: one in the main fabric and the lining. I used the same fabric for both pieces. Ideally, I would use thin fabric for the lining, but I only had gabardine at home.

After cutting the pieces, I cut several Garfield figures, which will be used to decorate the front of the apron. I also cut the top and side strips.

The next step was to sew the strips together. I faced the right sides of the fabrics together, secured them with staples, sewed, and left an opening to turn them over. After turning them over, I sewed to close them.

The fourth step was to place the strips, I pinned the top and side strips, then faced the front and back right sides together, making sure the strips stayed in place, I added a white ribbon to the top front, pinned it in place and sewed all the way around, leaving an opening at the bottom to turn it over.
El cuarto paso fue colocar las tiras, fijé con alfileres las tiras superiores y laterales, luego enfrenté derecho con derecho la parte delantera y posterior,cuidando que las tiras queden en su lugar, añadí una cinta blanca en la parte superior delantera, sujeté con alfileres y cosí por todo el contorno, dejando una abertura en la parte de abajo para voltear.
Once the seam was finished, I cut off the excess fabric, re-stitched it to secure the previous seam, and turned the piece inside out.

Once it was turned out, I checked that the strips were properly glued, closed the opening, and sewed two seams to top it off and give the apron more strength. With these simple steps, a useful and practical apron is finished for my son's art classes. This way, he can protect his uniform from possible stains and work comfortably in class.
Ya volteado, révisé que las tiras estuviesen bien pegadas, cerré la abertura y pasé dos costuras para repisar y darle más fuerza al delantal; con estos sencillos pasos está terminado un útil y práctico delantal para las clases de arte de mi hijo, así podrá proteger el uniforme de posibles manchas y trabajar cómodo en clase.
