Hola amigas y amigos de Hive, en especial de la comunidad Hive DIY. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una manualidad que realicé ayer por la tarde, luego de llevar a mi nieta a su escuela. Consiste en un adorno para colocar en las paredes de nuestro hogar y decorar algún espacio en especial al que deseemos darle un toque navideño. Confieso que de manera general no suelo colocar detalles ni nada en relación a la navidad, pero este año pienso será diferente porque a mi nieta si le entusiasman las fechas decembrinas. Lis se emociona tanto cuando hablamos de la navidad, las luces, los regalos y demás, noto con tanto ánimo sus felicidad. Es por ello, que ocasionalmente siempre que pueda, voy a ir adelantando detallitos para adornar un espacio de la sala con decorados navideños, cumplir su ilusión es mi meta.

Hello friends of Hive, especially from the Hive DIY community. Today I want to share with you a craft that I made yesterday afternoon, after taking my granddaughter to her school. It consists of an ornament to place on the walls of our home and decorate a special space to which we want to give a Christmas touch. I confess that in general I don't usually put details or anything in relation to Christmas, but this year I think it will be different because my granddaughter is excited about the holidays. Lis gets so excited when we talk about Christmas, the lights, the gifts and so on, I notice her happiness with such joy. That is why, occasionally, whenever she can, I will go ahead and make small details to decorate a space in the living room with Christmas decorations; fulfilling her dream is my goal.

Proceso de Creación / Creation Process

Collage 1 y 2

Con las paletas de helado, armaremos la base. Será una especie de cabaña o establo. Para ello, sigue el paso a paso reflejado en los siguientes collages de fotos. Los colores son a gusto, pero he decido colocarle colores diferentes a cada componente. Para unir las paletas de helado he usado silicon.

Collage 1 and 2

With the ice cream popsicles, we will assemble the base. It will be some kind of cabin or stable. To do this, follow the step by step reflected in the following photo collages. The colors are to taste, but I have decided to place different colors on each component. To join the ice cream popsicles I used silicone.

Collage 3 y 4

Al haber culminado la estructura base, continuamos con la creación de los personajes en si. Cortamos los círculos en color salmón, el cabello en sus diversos tonos y formas. Para María he usado cabello color negro, para el niño Jesús en amarillo y para José en marrón. Con silicon uniremos las piezas. Seguidamente tomaremos las telas y cortamos rectángulos, para crear el detalle de la cabeza que cubre las mismas.

Collage 3 and 4

Having completed the base structure, we continue with the creation of the characters themselves. We cut the circles in salmon color, the hair in its various shades and shapes. For Mary I have used black hair, for the baby Jesus in yellow and for Joseph in brown. With silicone we will join the pieces. Next we will take the fabrics and cut rectangles to create the detail of the head that covers them.

Cortamos semi círculos para formar las aureolas de los personas. Posteriormente con silicon las pegamos y así, como paso siguiente adherimos cada cabeza en las paletas correspondientes que ya anteriormente habíamos colocado en la base.

We cut semi circles to form the people's halos. Later we glued them with silicone and, as a next step, we adhered each head to the corresponding paddles that we had previously placed on the base.

Con el marcador, dibujaremos en los rostros los detalles como boca, cejas y ojos. Para agregarle un toque más tierno, le he dado color usando rubor en las mejillas y difuminando con un pequeño pincel. Dibujamos y cortamos la estrella y la colocamos sobre la punta del techo de la cabaña. Por último, haremos un lazo o usamos alguno que ya tengamos a disposición y con silicon le adherimos en la parte inferior de la base.

With the marker, we will draw details such as mouth, eyebrows and eyes on the faces. To add a more tender touch, I have given it color using blush on the cheeks and blending with a small brush. We drew and cut the star and placed it on the top of the roof of the cabin. Finally, we will make a bow or use one that we already have available and with silicone we adhere it to the bottom of the base.

Cuando elaboré este adorno, mi nieta se encontraba en la escuela. Al llegar a casa, lo vio sobre la mesa y me dijo: Abuela que lindo, tienen un bebé. En ese momento, aproveche de contarle una historia corta sobre el nacimiento y sobre la esperanza que vive en mi de que esta navidad sea bastante diferente a las pasadas, esta vez contaré con su compañía y su amor.

When I made this ornament, my granddaughter was at school. When I got home, she saw it on the table and told me: * Grandma, how cute, they have a baby *. At that moment, I took the opportunity to tell her a short story about the birth and about the hope that lives in me that this Christmas will be quite different from the past ones, this time I will have her company and her love.
