Siempre me encuentro complacida de compartir en Hive y sobretodo Hive Diy, las cosas que experimento o realizo. Para esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes el proceso de elaboración de uno de los vestidos que empezaré a promocionar en mi pequeño emprendimiento llamado KOKO. Este vestido es asimétrico, y todo su encanto reside en la parte superior y el estampado. Por un lado, el hombro básicamente es tradicional, mientras que el otro hombro tiene un detalle de tirantes que al colocarselo le haces un tierno nudo de lazo que recae sobre los lados. Sin dudarlo, un estilo tierno y fresco, este modelo de vestido lo he bautizado para KOKO como "Azul".

I am always pleased to share on Hive and especially Hive Diy, the things I experience or make. For this occasion I want to share with you the process of making one of the dresses that I will begin to promote in my small business called KOKO. This dress is asymmetrical, and all its charm lies in the top and the print. On the one hand, the shoulder is basically traditional, while the other shoulder has a strap detail that when put on you tie a tender bow knot that falls on the sides. Without hesitation, a tender and fresh style, I have named this dress model for KOKO as "Blue".

Cuando estaba cortando las piezas de este vestido, usé como referencia una franela básica de niña para tomar medidas de hombro, sisa, y que tan bajo se extendería la parte superior. Habiendo aclarado eso, cortamos el detalle del hombro que cae. Para este vestido he usado un superior doble, es decir que la parte del corpiño se encuentra doble en tela. La parte de la falda, dos rectángulos que se unen posteriormente por los costados. El largo de la falda se establecerá según lo largo que la deseemos, para este caso he usado el alto de 42 centimetros.

He usado como tela, Rib con estampado infantil. Considero que le brinda caracteristicas como: Comodidad, frescura, mayor vida útil, además de estampados preciosos. Para complementar el vestido, he elaborado un lindo lazo de la misma tela. Sin duda una pieza ideal para los paseos de fines de semana.

When I was cutting out the pieces for this dress, I used a basic girl's flannel as a reference to take measurements for the shoulder, armhole, and how low the top would extend. Having cleared that up, we cut out the dropped shoulder detail. For this dress I have used a double top, meaning that the bodice part is doubled in fabric. The skirt part, two rectangles that are later joined on the sides. The length of the skirt will be established according to how long we want it, in this case I have used the height of 42 centimeters.

I have used Rib with children's print as fabric. I consider that it offers features such as: Comfort, freshness, longer useful life, as well as beautiful prints. To complement the dress, I have made a pretty bow from the same fabric. Without a doubt an ideal piece for weekend walks.

Proceso de Creación / Creation Process

Iniciamos cortando las piezas, la parte del superior o corpiño es doble. Así que cortaremos 4 piezas de las mismas. Cortamos un listón fino que será el tirante del hombro. Para la falda dos rectangulos. En cuanto al lazo, dos rectangulos, un listón central y un listón de dos tirantes alargados que son en sí uno solo.

We start by cutting the pieces, the part of the top or bodice is double. So we will cut 4 pieces of the same. We cut a thin ribbon that will be the shoulder strap. For the skirt two rectangles. As for the bow, two rectangles, a central ribbon and a ribbon with two elongated straps that are in themselves one.

Habiendo cortado las piezas, vamos a nuestra máquina de coser. Tomamos el listón del hombro, doblamos y cosemos el lateral para unir. Con ayuda de un lápiz o algún imperdible le damos vuelta, cortamos a mitad y aquí le tenemos.

Having cut out the pieces, we go to our sewing machine. We take the shoulder ribbon, fold it and sew the side to join. With the help of a pencil or a safety pin we turn it over, cut it in half and here it is.

Enfrentamos las partes del pecho, cuadramos los tirantes de adentro hacía el exterior. Así el excedente del tirante permanecerá oculto y le brindará más prolijidad al vestido. Cosemos por todo el contorno. Repetimos el proceso con las otras piezas, es decir, tanto delantero superior como con trasero superior.

We face the parts of the chest, we square the straps from the inside to the outside. This way the excess strap will remain hidden and will give the dress more neatness. We sew all around. We repeat the process with the other pieces, that is, both the upper front and the upper rear.

Cuando hemos cosido ambas piezas por separado, volteamos y enfrentamos para unir por los costados. También cosemos por el hombro.

When we have sewn both pieces separately, we turn and face each other to join on the sides. We also sew on the shoulder.

Ahora coseremos la falda al corpiño. Cosemos inicialmente con costura recta enfrentando derechos y realizando pliegues. Los costados serán unidos por costura recta. Este paso lo he hecho así para tener más libertad al realizar los pliegues y que la unión no fuesen a quedar en algún punto indebido esteticamente. Después he rematado con una costura de Over Falsa. Para culminar el vestido, realicé el orillo inferior con una costura recta.

Now we will sew the skirt to the bodice. We initially sew with a straight seam facing right sides and making folds. The sides will be joined by straight sewing. I have done this step this way to have more freedom when making the folds and so that the union would not end up at some aesthetically inappropriate point. Then I finished off with a False Over seam. To finish the dress, I sewed the bottom edge with a straight seam.

Resultado / Result :

En cuanto al lazo, solamente he enfrentado los derechos de cada rectangulo por individual y cosido por el contorno dejando una pequeña abertura central. Damos vuelta, y colocamos uno sobre otro y realizamos las puntadas centrales con aguja e hilo. Posteriormente cosemos el listón colgante, volteamos y fijamos sobre la pinza caimán usando silicon. Sobre estos, colocamos el lazo y por ultimo el liston pequeño que cubre el centro.

As for the bow, I have only faced the right sides of each rectangle individually and sewn around the contour, leaving a small central opening. We turn and place one on top of the other and make the central stitches with needle and thread. Later we sew the hanging ribbon, turn it over and fix it on the alligator clip using silicone. On these, we place the bow and finally the small ribbon that covers the center.

Sin duda alguna cada día me enamoro más de las cosas que hago. Me he estado dando mi tiempo para probar con algunas técnicas nuevas para mí, tal como la es del armado de este vestido. El acabado es muy lindo, muy limpio y cuidado.
