Greetings to all the creative minds here and lovers of diy, it's a beautiful day today and I wish you all a lovely weekend. Every Saturday, I get engaged with some of the project I ought to have done during the week but because of my busy schedule, I had to schedule them for my weekend, most of us get to rest or get engaged with our personal jobs for the weekend while most people are still at there place of work trying to make ends meet. Today I will be sharing with you the making of a pencil casing designed with double color fabric with zipper to secure the items in it.
I have a lot of little children around me most are family while some are friends and neighbors, i usually make beautiful items for them that are very useful either for school or at home, I have also made different hair accessories for the little girls and other useful items as well. So today, I am making this for my little nephew for his pencils, I made something similar for his older brother sometimes ago but I had to make his own different so as not to cause problems between them.
This is the pencil casing I made for baby Bright using two colors of fabrics with a slanted zipper and handle by the side
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process.
I measured and cut out 2 pieces of fabric from different fabric with lining
I took one of the fabric and measure 3" downward and it was connected to the top
I cut out the 3" that was slanted and it was used to cut out same shape from the other fabric
I cut out lining for the little piece and and I placed my zipper on the main fabric with lining and it was sewn together on both sides
I cut out a little piece for the handle measuring 2 x 8" it was folded in and sewn together on both sides
The zipper was open to the middle and I placed the other piece on it with the lining right side to right side, then I placed the handle on the zipper opening inside and it was sewn round
The sides were trimmed off and it was turned to the right side through the zipper opening
This is the final and beautiful outcome with my pen by the side
The pen were well arranged in the pencil casing and this is the beautiful outcome
